Anyone got a deal in the last month or so? Researching options for a GTI for the wife.

It's either lease a new one or a second hand MK5...

Probably 2k down, 9+23 either 8k or 10k miles.

Seen £214 over on contract hire and leasing

May go PCP though but I expect they cant beat that...
That's about 2k over the term than the best deals

I was 2.2k down and 95 a month.

CVL, the deal is well long gone now I'm afraid. It was before the facelift came out.

The GTi/D do have fogs but a batch were built without.

The colour is horrendous.
I think it looks Ok in person. Someone at work has a 67-plate GTD in that colour and it seems smart enough to me. Bit different to the norm in a good way

So nearly a year in and I'm still loving it ! Does everything well and love driving it everyday . A change of circumstances after I took out the lease means I'm way over my mileage allowance but when I'm having this much fun who cares! Looks like I will need some new front tyres fairly soon and I had a new rear recently after a non fixable puncture but as tyres are less than one hundred quid it's not too bad .
Quick question has anyone tried to ring VWFS to negotiate an extension to their mileage limit . I'm more than prepared to pay the excess mileage charge but am aware from previous threads that they will sometimes extend the mileage limit for a reduced fee?

Apparently you need to request a "Post Activation Mileage Rewrite"

I am thinking of extending my mileage also, pending figures. Just about to hit 10k, although I'm due to be away a good chunk of next year so might work out better paying the 6.2p excess.

Happy motoring here also, only the electrics seem to throw a fit now and then. Have lost the driver display in the main cluster for a day, then it came back the following day. Also the media unit lost all radio and sat nav signal one time, again it came back the following day. Odd.

Mines on pcp,

Had no issues in 18 month apart from the blank screen every so often for about 30 seconds on the pro nav other than that it's perfect

Also managed 50mpg on the prefscelift with 6spd dsg which I'm happy with and when getting on with it, it's great point to point

I'm also a little confused about servicing.

Just received a letter from VWFS advising road tax has been paid. It also had a reminder about servicing and how 30% of drivers incur a £400 charge for incomplete service history.

I've only driven 7.5k miles and the car is saying another 350 days before a service is due?

I spoke to a dealer and he said not to bother until 20k? Or was it 15k? Either way i might not need to given my mileage.

Any deals about ATM?

Best I've seen for a DSG 5 door is around £2500 down and £290/month for 8k miles.

Sounds crazy compared to our £95pm.

Only decent looking deal I’ve seen was the Golf R Estate with Nationwide, was £150pm 5k mileage and 1600k down.

Just had quick look and seems as if it’s gone back up in price, unless another broker has it on offer??

£95pm for a gti?! What was the deposit and terms on that? Definitely don't get them that cheap now.

A year in and just coming up to 16k miles.
Oil service info showing 600 miles but inspection showing 4600.

Popped into dealers today who said ok for oil service but inspection not due until 20k , I explained it was on longlife and I didn't want to be paying for 2 services within 3 months of each other.
Was then quoted a price for oil and inspection service of £299.52.

I have 3 other dealers within 25 miles so the haggling will begin.
Anyone else have a price for servicing yet?

Just had the tyres rotated and surprised that fronts were still at 4mm and rears on 5mm.

I’ve always done the 2 year fixed price servicing with VW. It’s around £260 for two services.
