Just had a quote to extend my lease DSG GTi for another 12 months.
Original deal was £1500 down and £156/ month for 5K miles/yr which was an amazing deal so I thought the extension would be a big increase but no. They have offered £286/month for another year with total mileage allowance of 40K as I'm way over the original mileage allowance. This works out as a big discount on the already low 7.2p/mile extra mileage charge.
Total cost is £8500 for 3 years or amortised cost of £236/month. Don't think I'd be able to get anywhere near that on anything else similar so going to take them up on it.
Wow - that was an incredible deal initially. I was 2.2k down and 95ish a month for 2 years at 5000 miles/yr. Seems crazy not to take up the extension since there are no deals out there so good.Original deal was £1500 down and £156/ month for 5K miles/yr which was an amazing deal so I thought the extension would be a big increase but no. Evening all.
I'm on a gti deal for £108/month, 5k/year, initial payment £2400 runs out in december.
Just wondered what price or best price vwfs have got back to anyone with on a similar deal for extending 12 months?
Done 12k miles so am over already with 4 month left but at 7.2ppm so am happy with all.
Cheers

My deal on a standard 5Dr Golf GTi in white:
£755.02 initial rental (after dealer contribution)
£216.59 x 23 (£4981.57)
TOTAL = £5736.59 = £239.02 a month amortised
on 10k a year mileage with a 10.8p per mile excess.
All prices include VAT
Got my extension quotes today:£755.02 initial rental (after dealer contribution)
£216.59 x 23 (£4981.57)
TOTAL = £5736.59 = £239.02 a month amortised
on 10k a year mileage with a 10.8p per mile excess.
All prices include VAT
6 months: £173.16 per month
12 months: £173.32 per month
plus £60 admin fee (fkin cheek)
At present, my mileage is very low so, if this stays the same, may get away with not having to replace the tyres.
Also need to factor in the cars second service which will be due during the extension period - anyone any idea how much this would be?

Well it seems all the new deals have dried up. I'm guessing this is due to the emission test changes?
https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/volkswagen-deliveries-halted-wltp-emissions-certification Looks like it.
Got my quote in today for a 6 month extension with 5k allowance.
Works out at £121 a month with a £50 admin fee.
Still not sure weather to extend or not. Have a growing family so thinking I may want some extra space.
As mentioned above a lot of the deals have dried up although I did spot a deal on a Golf R estate for £265 a month with 8k allowance and 2.4K down inc vat. Not bad considering they were up in the high £300's per month. That's on freedom leasing. Requesting a quote with the Pretoria grey alloys and Lapiz blue paint, just waiting to hear back.

12 month / 10k extension at £165pm for me. Happy with that as nothing out there at the moment comes close. Total £8000 for 3 years, 30k.
Well done!I am looking at something similar...hopefully. Did you have to ring and ask for the extension or did they offer it to you via letter/phone call?
How are your tyres? Any recommendations?
Kind Regards

Still on the original tyres, I have rotated fronts with rears to even out the wear, otherwise i’d probably have needed to replace th fronts within the original 24 months. I’m only on around 16k miles currently, but expect i’ll need to replace at least two tyres in the next 12 months - no idea with what though sorry!
Question for those of you who have extended for another 12 months (taking the term to a total of 3yrs) - Am I correct in assuming VWFS will tax the vehicle during the 12 month extension as they did during the original 24 months?
Have just extended for another 12 months and VWFS mentioned I will need to MOT the vehicle when it is 3yrs old but I forgot to ask about the road tax.
Also, they said I will be responsible for the vehicle warranty during the extended 12 months but I thought all UK cars come with a 3yr warranty as standard.
May well need to call them back to clarify but no harm asking on here beforehand.

Hi All
Would really appreciate members help. To cut a very long story short VWFS registered my October 2016 lease agreement about 18 months late... I have no idea why.
As my agreement is due up for renewal December 18 (delivery of car was December 16) I rang for a renewal price... they have told me I have 18 months to run in my current deal.... eventually got to the bottom of this with VWFS and they have now come back with some astonishing quotes for a 12 month renewal at £560 plus VAT. I have argued that people on the same deal have renewals at £160ish and they are asking for evidence of these deals and require registrations or agreement numbers.
One kind member has already supplied although would like a few more if possible, just car registration is fine. My deal was as below:
Golf Gti DSG 5 door in white
£755.00 deposit
£211 X 23
10k per year
I have a call with Frankie from VWFS again next week so massively appreciate anyone being able to supply their car registration if they managed to grab one of the great deals 2 years ago!
Much appreciated!!

Out of interest what MPG do you get out of a GTD?
Sean
Sorry for the late reply ( joys of being away on business )
For this one, probably around mid thirtys but it's only used on short journeys and has done 11k. My last mk7 GTD I averaged just under 46mpg over 72k
My daily is a 7.5 GTi PP and I'm averaging about 35 over 7 months / 14k
PS, yes I know I should use the GTD as a daily so it's the wrong was round but the 2 just don't compare

Just had a bca inspection.
Very pleased as for a scraped front bumper and paint chipped rear bumper the total excess was £165. I’d had a quote for the front bumper from vw lease approved and that alone was £240. No charges for a door dented rear quarter ,one slightly curbed alloy and plenty of paint chips.
Now waiting to receive the 20k miles excess charge. Argued with Cardiff VW before accepting the car as they bumped it from 6ppm to 10ppm. I have all the correspondence saved so expecting around £1400.
Vw finance wanted £332 a month for me to extend to 40k , I’d have needed to have fanother service and a dsg service so for now I have a tfsi freetrack which I’m very much enjoying.

Good to hear, ive kerbed a couple of front wheeks and chipped the rear bumped paint (less than the size of a finger nail) - hope charges aren't too high.Very pleased as for a scraped front bumper and paint chipped rear bumper the total excess was £165.
