I think you should have had a build date by now. I ordered mine in April and have an order date of 21 August

How's everyone getting on with their outstanding orders?

I placed an order for a SB S5 on 29 April and I still don't have an estimated build date. The online tracker doesn't yet recognise my order number. Gone back to dealer to ask but wanted to see what everyone else's current experiences are.
I ordered on 19th April ... build date was 26th June and the car arrived in the UK last Friday. I might be wrong but on the tracker do you need a postcode? If so, try the dealer's rather than your own. My order number wasn't recognised at first either but when I used the dealer's details it was fine... I think it was the postcode that made a difference. You might find your car has already been made and is sitting in Emden waiting for a ship!

Sorry for the slightly O/T question

Why would an insurance company have an interest in a private plate? Legally are you not entitled to getting your plate back?

If your vehicle is stolen, the DVLA will accept an application to have the registration mark reassigned to your replacement vehicle on condition that the theft was reported to the police and that the DVLA have recorded the vehicle as not recovered for at least twelve months. Further, the vehicle must have been taxed (or be tax exempt) and have had a valid MOT at the time of the theft.
Additionally, you will also need to supply the DVLA with a letter from your insurers confirming that they do not object to the registration mark being reassigned for the simple reason that if the vehicle is recovered after the claim is settled, your insurers assume the legal rights to the vehicle and therefore its current registration mark.

I don't know if this affects current orders, but I just found this article on MSN that seems to be suggesting production stopping on the current S5.

Anyone wanting to know more:

Just managed to get an update on my order and I too have a build date of 21 August. Should mean a mid-September delivery I hope.

Going to be very sad to see my R8 go but a growing family means I'm now desperate to change cars! The R8 has isofix on the passenger seat which I've used but zero pram and wife space!!

Big thanks for this. It was the postcode that was stopping me from tracking my order. The dealer neglected to tell me that I had to use Audi's head office postcode!

Well all after the stolen S5 saga and a few weeks gone by I've decided I don't want to step into a Leon 300 and I'm going to get back in an S5 if possible. Whilst there is a slim chance Audi put me in another I'm not holding much hope.

So if anyone spots a half decent lease deal please post it.
Coupe or SB not bothered.

That'd be my cancelled order. I received the finance docs for it yesterday, despite cancelling months ago! Although that price has ramped up...

Simon,

Call this guy. He sold me my S5 and got me exactly what I wanted very quickly. He has access to HO in MK as well so a good bet. Just say Ian with the black S5 sportback recommended you.

Thanks guys - ill try get in touch with the people mentioned above this morning. I have also reached out to Hereford Audi and JCT600 who dealt with my previous lease through V4B to see if there is an offer they can put on the table. Prices have gone up from the offer most of us got but not by much though it might mean i drop the nav blue paint and folding mirrors to get more aligned on the previous deal.

If anyone else has suggestions please let me know.

Been offered a S5 coupe as follows;

Daytona Grey, B n O sound, Pan roof, extended led, folding mirrors, wireless charging, VC, driver assistance pack (tour), flat wheel, matrix lights

£3709 down and 402 a month cancelled order car is at the dealer ready to go.

Seems a decent deal

Looks like a nice spec! do you really want to pay for pan roof & B&O though?? also, where from out of interest? Call Michael and see what he has, he does at least negotiate on price a little.

There's over £5K of options on that, which would typically mean an extra £160+/month on a 9+23.

At £402/month it looks like you're getting the options at a knockdown price. What seat colour?

Great if you are purchasing maybe, not on a lease though even at knockdown if it were me. You pay your money and take your choice though.

I can't remember what the best deals were, but that's roughly a 9+23, coming out at £12864

Depends if that's inc VAT, obviously, but that looks a decent price even for a poverty spec car in the current market. Admittedly you lose the fun of speccing it yourself...
