I know it's not in the same ball park performance wise, but if you're after a nice Audi, there is support on the A7 3.0 tdi Se Exec Ultra at the moment. £48k car for £300 a month on a 9+23.
Thanks man. I have to admit the A7 doesn't interest me too much due to the size. We have a 3 GT right now and I'm kinda sick of parking it and tw@ts pranging it in car parks. It's not even that big, just a bit long!

Appreciate the thought though. I will look into the S3 Sportback I was checking out previously, as well as an off-the-wall Q3 2.0 TFSI Black Edition S Tronic for ~£8K total for 2 years (try and console myself by saving cash rather than the quality of the car!!)

Edit: One final lease company say they can still place the S4 order for £11.4K total for the two years. Not sure this is a 'good' deal, but it's an option all the same!

Similar to the best deals on the S5 were last year. But the S5 is a more expensive car.

Yeah, the S5 is out of the question these days at around £12.7K. I was stretching at £10.6K, so cannot do £11.4K. Not this time around anyway. Now I either get the V6 out of my mind and take the S3 at £9K, or just lose my cajones and go Q3 at £8K!!!

So it got delivered today. First impressions are very good having come from a M135i - it's like
chalk and cheese.

Power is so useable and the interior is stunning. Can't wait to put some miles on it but first stop tomorrow is an autowatch ghost being fitted.

Have any of you guys ever previously tinted windows on a leased car?

Yes, I did on a Land Rover. Absolute s**t to remove though before being returned.

Hi guys, had my S5 around 5 months and so far love it. Its on lease and non maintained. My question was are you expected to receive a courtesy car while they carry the work out on your car and does it need to be like for like?

You're a customer of the dealer, right? You're a guy with a car getting it repaired or serviced, it's not really relevant that it's leased. So it's about how good the dealer are, or what their loaner cars are. No offense mate but you need to ask them, not the internet...

Yes, you should get a courtesy car if you ask for one, but that may mean a longer wait for a service. Some dealers make a small charge for insurance

No, it won't be like for like. t may not even be another Audi. (Our nearest Jag dealership use Hyundais as courtesy cars!)

To give you idea of service level: I went for warranty repair in Audi S8 and was offered Audi A3 diesel manual with £15 charge for excess waiver, excess is £1000. Let's just say that I decided not to fix my car on this occasion and left dealership after wasting an hour.

Before booking 1st service, I was told it's 1 month wait for courtesy car and other dealership said 2 months wait. Went for drop off and collection. It seems it matters if car is leased because I was treated very poorly. Dealer contacted VWFS to agree work on the car. They didn't even plan to tell me what work will be done, just wanted me to sign docs and leave. I had to ask to talk to service advisor to make sure they also investigate warranty repair.

After service, was told they just checked fault but they have to investigate it and I have to book another appointment and closest date was in a couple of weeks. So I gave up as car is going back soon. I will post reg plate in S8 leasing thread when I return the car, so future owner knows what's wrong with it.

Summarising:
1. I gave up on 2 warranty repairs due to waiting time, poor service, etc.
2. Was treated poorly. Someone suggested it may be due to car being leased not my own. It certainly didn't encourage me to own any Audi. It was shocking comparing to my usual dealings with Mercedes.

When I had an S4 (that I owned) the waiting times for courtesy cars was ridiculous when getting a service, and had the £15 charge as per your experience. On the other hand (but this was 4 years ago) for warranty work the courtesy car was not an issue and I don't think I had to pay, but the car was off the road (not driveable) with at least two issues in the 3 years I had it.

Hi,

I've had my leased s5 for two months now and love the car. I'm looking to put my private plate on the car and have spoken to VW financial services. They have quoted a £50 admin fee for completing paperwork with DVLA (and further £50 when removing plate at end of agreement). Does this sound right in other people's experience?

Also has anyone managed to get their local dealer to make the plates free of charge (given that they will get free advertising of their dealership on the plate)? I know it's relatively cheap to get it made, but I'd rather not pay anything smile

I think that sounds right. I got my plate put on at registration so didn't pay to put it on, but I will have to pay an admin fee to take it off.

Had my private plate done by VWFS. I telephoned them to ask how long it would take as I had a retention certificate and they said the quickest option was that if I signed it and scanned it, emailed it to them it would take 3 days. A week later I received an email to say they had now received it and it would take 5 days, so it actually takes a fortnight !!.......again usual BS from VWFS.

The cost is £50.00 which is taken by DD, and again another £50.00 to reverse which needs to be two months prior to the car being returned. I had my plates made online with raised carbon black lettering and they look really smart (not cheap though), and they were delivered in about 4 days.

Insurance excess was for warranty repair, didn't book a car for service. When I booked appointment, I asked what kind of courtesy car is offered but was told no one knows until the day. My car was in ok condition, so I did not see a reason to pay £15 to drive crappy manual car.

I'm totaly put off by my two encounters with Audi service (two dealerships) and I hope I won't have to do any warranty repairs in my next leased car.

I cant say I thought it was great, but I cannot complain really about the cars I got. I had an S4 Stronic, and got A4 or A5 3.0TDI Stronics normally (it went in about 5 times for warranty work in the 3 years I had it from memory). Once I got an A3 2.0TDI but that was handy as I did 200 miles in it in the afternoon at 50mpg compared to the 25mpg the S4 would have got!

Thanks. I thought the cost was a bit steep (i.e. rip off!) but guess I will just have to pay up. I'm used to PCP where there is no administrative charge as you complete all the paperwork (or online request which takes minutes) yourself.

I contacted VWFS on the 24th by email confirming I wished to assign a cherished registration and only received a response today asking me what the original or current registration is.

Does anyone else think that waiting nearly two weeks for a reply is a bit out of order when they are charging me £50 'Admin Fee' and essentially taking forever to get the finger out. Worth mentioning to them I am not happy or a lost cause?
