Not sorted my mileage extension yet however, thought this might be of interest.

Car had first service above a month ago and reportedly needed two new Tyres. Full maintenance package but dealer was reportedly too dear when phoning Audi. Bit disgruntled I’d spent the money getting Tyres and maintenance only to discover that it was down to price and was handed keys and told, “you’ll need to go to Euromaster” customer service eh...

Anyway, Euromaster fitted two new Tyres, phone call last night, because it is a Quattro, Audi want you to bring it back and get the two others replaced. Now, garage at it in order to up their sales or likely genuine?

I'm afraid I'm similarly disappointed with the paint. Navarra blue looks fabulous but I'm having to treat the car like a delicate baby, it's so soft.

I'm not into polishing and waxing but looks like I will just have to put in a couple of hours effort.
I opted for misano red and I really kick myself as the paint ‘orange peel’ is horrendous and if I hadn’t been so desperate for the car, I’d have rejected it. Anyone else suffered the same?

Think I've read somewhere that A4 gets it facelift mid-2019, with A5 about a year later (debut Geneva 2020, from memory).
The A4 facelift has been announced already, no news on what's changing on the RS4 and S4 though just the lower models.

Okay, okay. It's a little early. But I am thinking about the next lease... reason being that the lease deals thread seems to be horribly dry of the types of deals we have been used to seeing! I got my S4 end of October last year, so I'm still 15 months away from requiring a new car BUT I can't help but think the prices have generally taken a step up across the board when looking at bang for buck.
Anyone further down the road of their lease and have any idea of what they're aiming for next?

I need a car by April.

Ideally S4 Avant/S5 SB but I dont think that is realistic.

So my other considerations are Golf R, Leon Cupra, M140i, M240i, Volvo V/S90

Most lead times are still out of reach though.

Yep, it's looking pretty grim on the lease front at the moment, I'm determined not to get a 4 pot diesel which limits my options even more, and don't really want a hot hatch.

Looked into a new GT Mustang (PCP) given their 6-9 month lead in times, but fords finance rates on the new model are 5.9% APR, even with a hefty deposit your still looking at £650 a month! Of course they are doing the 0% interest on MY17's to clear old stock but they'll be long gone by April next year.

Plus, I'm a cereal car buying addict, I want to lease! If I PCP I've an option to get out of my agreement after I use some man maths bullst on myself, with a lease your tied in and there's no real excuse to change.

Come the time hopefully I'll mange to talk myself into a cheep Golf GTi deal and spend my left over cash on something else..........my wife and some overpriced trainers for the kids probablylaugh

Haven't visited this thread for a while but interestingly people are looking at the next deal already and not unlike myself. My S5 coupe was delivered on 1 March 2017 so 7 months still to go but factory lead times due to WLTP are this long anyway. I've done 12.5K miles so far and averaged 32MPG and generally I've been very pleased with the car.

As this was my first lease I just wanted to ask those in the know about options. I won't do the 20K mileage limit so that's not a problem. In my paperwork it says that I can purchase the vehicle and I wondered whether this might be worth doing. I've just got a WBAC quote which values it at £29.3K now. Will VWFS sell the car now and would this cease any future monthly lease payments or is it only available to purchase once all lease payments have been made i..e when it's two years old? Otherwise, as others have mentioned there's a distinct lack of alternative lease deals at present, I might buy outright a Boxster or Cayman over the hopefully cheaper winter period. I've read on here that you can terminate leases early and pay half the cost of the remaining lease payments or thereabouts. This might be useful as, if I do buy another car, handing the car back in January before the service is due might actually be worthwhile. Any thoughts welcomed. Thanks.

They probably won't sell it until the lease is up.

But your WBAC quote shows we did the right thing leasing it!

Nice to read all of your thoughts. I'm the same as Epants - really do not want a 4 pot diesel and tbh not that interested in a 6cy diesel either (been there, done that, the S4 is so much more characterful!!). I came from company cars, to a PCP and now onto two PCHs in the family. Really hope that the deals pick up again as I can't take 'going backwards' in terms of excitement, speed and power...

Tom - keep us up to date as you search please. Be interested what you see and how you go. And if we can help I'm sure we'll all pitch in as best we can.

Thanks guys!

For the life of me I cannot find it but sure last week I read on here someone making recommendations on the insurance front regarding the S5. When declaring what security features it has, be sure to mention 'X', I just cannot recall what 'X' was, can anyone help? Was it perhaps the Audi Assist?

You can request to formally extend the lease by 12 months and you can request this quote when you are 6 months from the lease end date (or closer). Obviously you will be hoping the price stays the same or drops (or goes up only slightly). What I would advise is to do it as soon as you are 6 months to the lease end date and if they come back saying its another £150 a month for example leave it at that and then make the request again at say 4.5 months away and the price may well change.
You can also request an informal extension for 3 months meaning you lease continues at the same price for another 3 months.
If you want to buy the car or are interested in seeing the price for it I think you can ask 6 months before the lease ends - but im not 100% sure. With my Golf R VWFS sent me a letter a few months before the car was due back offering the chance to buy it with a price. It wasnt a good price but I have known people to haggle and get the price reduced a bit.

Ill be asking for another 12 months with the car and if that happens ill keep it another year before handing back and getting something else.

I've been watching the lease prices over the past few months and agree definitely seem to be going up.
One car I've considered as an alternative is a Mercedes C43 AMG. Some good deals at the moment due to a new facelifted version coming shortly. I'm put off though as had a C220 AMG Line in 2014 and the in car system was terrible to use, like and old out of date tablet. The new version looks impressive with digital cockpit etc.
I've also been considering something totally different like a Range Rover Velar. So many bad reviews from owners with things going wrong though.
Hopefully the Audi lease prices will come back down again at some point.

What deals have you seen on the C43?

I make that less than 3p per mile.

For some - including myself this is good news as I want another 10K.
I realise they won't charge me that though.
Still, if you know you are not going to go over , better in your pocket than theirs.

£14.4K outlay for 8k p/a, 2 years for the C43. My S4 is £10.4K outlay for 11k p/a, 2 years. Fingers crossed PCH deals come back to life soon!!
