I've done 21k and just replaced the front tyres. Back has loads left.

Asked for a quote to extend for another year, quoted £560 a month. Based on that I will be looking to replace it come March. Don't know what though, ideally I want to spend less.
Chap I spoke to said get a quote much nearer time. He said go for three month (which is the same current cost) 3 months prior to hand back (in jan) and also Get price for formal 6 or 12 then. If the price is decent I will be in car till jan 20 (9 months total) If you have a VW order number they will allow same pricing unlilo delivery was the other info.

I rang at the beginning of the month (posted a few pages back) and was quoted the below:

6 months and 25k miles in total - £340+vat
12 months and 30k miles in total - £370+vat

I know its meant to change daily or weekly but didn't expect it to change that much lol

Guys, I really want an S5 coupe but need you to tell me I’m being daft here...

I went a petrol engine as I only do 5k miles (station runs combined with some motorway driving) a year and was considering the 440i before this...

Anyway the used market is too high for an outright purchase and I went to Audi today to speak finance for a vehicle.

Best offer on one of their stock vehicles worth 55k (blue, comfort/sound package, VC, privacy glass, sunroof) they were going to make a 9k dealer contribution with 6.5k down from me and payments at £600 a month over three and a half years. Just over 4% APR. This would also include key, paint protection + gap insurance.

I’m currently paying £350/month for a c250d AMG due to expire end of January 2019 and will be about 12,000 miles shy of agreed mileage when I do. Oh dear I know!

Given my mileage and want for the s5, any recommendations on How/what to do? My original budget was about 20k for a used vehicle but as daft as it sounds, it isn’t getting me near what I want!!

Thanks in advance.

Yes found out the unofficial 3 months extension will be the same price. So extends me to June 30th.

One issue I have is I'm going to be 8k miles over the contracted 20k, so 15.6ppm is going to be about 1.2k charge. (i think that math is correct) Mostly business miles so I'm claiming.

Will keep one eye on any good deals, but nothing looks as good as the S5 imo.

I got mine adjusted for exactly the same reason (going 8k over with work miles), the effective ppm I got including the admin fee was about 13. Saved me £189 IIRC

Bin that lot from the dealer. If you want it, get it privately; normally 1/3 to 1/2 the dealer "price".

Hi man. Just a few comments hopefully helpful smile

Are you on a lease at the moment? I guess you need a motor ready and waiting? It’s always can be a bh to get the timings correct if you switch brand. For example I was in a hire car for a month ouch when my pcp was sold and then the incumbent lease was delayed.

The deal you quoted I assume with the APR noted it’s a PCP? Is the car brand brand new would you be the first owner? Sounds like it as the % sounds good so would be a central Audi rate. If so put the numbers in pcpcal.co.uk you’ll need the gfv. Remember a little discount can be eaten with a poor rate etc. 9k off sounds ok to me if the car is new. 15% off? Can you check the internet brokers coast2coast orange wheels etc.

Plenty of second hand ones north of 40k I think new is cheaper for most cars now.

I’ve heard there are delays on the car with some emissions thing so perhaps a stock car isn’t so bad.

Another point assuming a PCP Good thing is that if you do less miles then it might be worth a bit more At the end of the deal you can always buy it and then sell.
As it’s over 40k the new car tax applies but you’ll pay for it somehow.

Also as noted avoid the dealer crap gap go elsewhere defo it’s usually far better cover to ala.co.uk price match others. get a detail not their dodgy paint rubbish. See if they can get a pro detailer for you.

Good luck. You’ll love it especially from a Tractor smile I had a 335d but the petrol is where it’s at smile

All good advice. Take a look at carfile.net - https://www.carfile.net/buy-your-car/audi/a5_coupe...

Your spec of car shows a list price of £52695, their discounted price is £46K - but remember that Audi Finance will then give you a further "finance contribution" of £3.5K,

If you can't wait, there's also plenty of delivery mileage pre-reg cars on Autotrader at under £39K. You won't get a sensible finance deal, from the dealer, but there are other ways of funding a car purchase.

More of a personal thing, but an S5 wouldn't be my choice of car to leave in a station car park on a regular basis.

Hi guys,

Wanted to quickly check which company you guys went with for insurance? My premium has gone up from £800 to over £2k!

I also remember reading there were some safety features to declare (? Presense) which brought down the price (my previous provider didn’t have an option).

Thanks

How interesting. Presense is the single most dangerous feature of my S4. Bloody thing randomly triggers. Turn it off in MMI and it rearms itself the next time you turn the ignition.

Yep great idea, horrible in practice. Nearly shot through the windscreen on a dual carriageway when a large pigeon flew in front. Or, turning on a tight bend with lamp posts alongside which it thinks are pedestrians!

Anyone else had a recall recently? or should i say "product enhancement"

Received a letter, direct from local dealer, hand written envelope and recorded delivery. Odd, no?

I shall call Audi direct.

Not had anything come through so far? Does it specify what the "product enhancement" is?

Most are leased on here so its a no go due to warranty implications etc

How many miles have you done? It gets noticeably louder after around 7/8k

Has anyone tried to get a formal 12 month extension as yet? I can request early Feb but gut feel says prices wont be in our favour.
I suspect Audi will want these cars back given they have barely any stock left and the S5/S4 is not yet back in production.

I have fitted the full Milltek non res system. Got a great price (£1,600 instead of £2,100 RRP) and its fantastic. Near stock sound unless your in dynamic sport or dynamic sport manual. I did disconnect the valves for those lovely cold starts but not being able to switch got tiresome.

You can disconnect the valves on the standard exhaust which is a mod some people have done. If you are in the North West feel free to come and have a nosey at mine with the Milltek on.

Mine is going in for an oil change soon and they said there is a software update. I also hope they dont do the B&O update as people have had mixed results. They are going to look at a string of rattles on mine aswell.
