Hi guys had my coupe for almost 3 weeks m. So far so good!

I have noticed an odd squeaking noise at very low speeds when i accelerate. I can only hear this when the windows are down not sure what it could be?

Also what is everyone doing for individual settings?

I want the exhaust valves open but still want the car to be set up in comfort to handle the horrible roads we have!

Set the engine to Dynamic and set the rest to Comfort if you only want the 'sound'.

Has anyone else noticed that the auto stop/start kicks in before you come to a complete stop? On my Golf R you would come to a complete stop and then have to tap the brake again for it to activate but on this it seems to kick in before you've actually stopped.

I was told this before I picked mine up so must be normal for Audi's.

One thing I noticed the other day is that the brakes squeak when reversing but not going forward.

Ah ok so it is normal. I just wanted to make sure so thanks for confirming.

I haven't noticed any squeaking on mine but I'll double check when I am next in it. I wouldn't worry about it too much at the moment (assuming you've done below 500 miles) as it will be bedding in. If it does persist then maybe take in for them to look at?

Yes, I think it's somewhere between 300 - 400 miles so you're probably right that they just need more time bedding in.

Having now done 800 miles, is it me or does the exhaust note seem louder in dynamic?

Glad you've posted this as I'm looking forward to the same thing! Is it much louder?

One issue I have noticed is the passenger seatbelt knocking on the side of the seat, quite annoying. Unless its just I have it in the wrong position

Same thing happened with my Golf R. It takes around 500-1000 miles for the exhaust to bed in I believe which is why you've noticed its become louder.

Ok chaps, had a few questions on how to load it so here goes..........

Firstly you will need an SD card slot on your PC, or a SD to USB reader plugged in with the SD card in it.

Make sure the SD card is empty and formatted. (Note the SD card root path when inserted i.e E:/, F:/ etc)

Make sure you have the latest copy of Java installed on your PC. https://java.com/en/download/ before proceeding below, as it will not work without it!

Also, make sure you know the path on your computer to the file list I emailed as you will need to select some of these files from the 'upload list' option button.

Ignore any .WAV files as these are not used.

1. Log into https://login.audi.com/login
2. Select Audi Connect option
3. Scroll across to MyAudi special destinations & select
4. Click on + Add Personal POI
5. Type in a POI name for the first file to include such as 'gatso.csv' and type in the POI name 'Speed Cameras - Gatso then select 'upload list button' and select the 'gatso.csv' file.
6. Select the gatso.bmp from the list in the 'select different icon'
7. Click 'Save' and it will appear in the download list.
8. Do the same as 4 -7 above for each other camera option you want and corresponding named icon.
9. When all the camera options you want are in the list then 'select all' so they are all checked in red.
10. Now select 'download' and the 'save as' to somewhere you can easily view and access the file. Desktop is best.
11. A new file will appear on your desktop called 'downloader************.jnlp
12. Click on this new file and a Java applet will run and open a box called 'Audi Connect Download Client'
13. Click the 'Run' button, this will then produce a box called 'choose destination folder'
14. Select the root of the SD card i.e E:/ and click open.
15. You will then be prompted to enter your MyAudi username and password, and when entered the converted files will be copied to the SD card.
16. When all files are copied, put the SD card into the MMI slot 1 or 2.
17. In Navigation options select 'Special Destinations' and then select SD slot 1 or 2 and then OK.
18. The POI speed cameras will then be copied into your MMI navigation system.

Advanced options:

Some may want the camera icons background colours to vary. Edit these in MS Paint before downloading. DO NOT change the size or file name/type. Just colour in and save. I used a yellow background.

The camera icons may appear small to some, so when downloaded onto the SD card select the file folder 'personalPOI/package/0/default and open the 'categories.pc' file in Notepad ++. Change all 'zoomlevel=9' entries to 'zoomlevel=30' and click save.

P.s Notepad ++ can be downloaded for free https://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v7.3.3.html

Enjoy!! type

Many thanks for sending this through and giving the step-by-step guide, it worked perfectly, first time on my car. I had a slight moment of confusion with what to set in the car, but soon found it was easy enough to turn on the special destination points in the navigation settings. Thanks a million, really appreciated.

Definitely louder And it must be to do with the bedding in process. I also feel the car is quicker? Am I going mad? I feel the engine has 'opened up' since putting some miles on it

On a side note I am disappointed with the steering feedback. Feels quite dull, other than that I have no complaints.

Anyone else considering the TDI tuning box? Also would a resonator delete be a good reversible mod? I want more pops and bangs ??

A resonator delete would deffo make the car louder, but I don't think it is a good idea if the car is leased. Not sure how you would do that with the S5 exhaust system anyway.

It may be as simple as unplugging the cables going into the back boxes. But that may make it permanently quiet!

Do we only have Audi connect on a 3 month trial? I was messing about configuring an S4 the other day and noticed that Audi Connect 36 months was a 'free' option that had been selected by default. So I was wondering if all S models come with 36 months as standard...

Yes, 36 months as standard on all S5's.

Yes, 36 months as standard on all S5's.
But not all S models I don't think. S3 doesn't have the posh sat nav as standard and therefore only has 3 months IIRC

Drove the Golf for the first time in over a week. Amazing how much confidence it instills with its steering compared to the S5. I'll miss it when it goes but I do still prefer the S5
