Same here.
Right Now September seems a loooooooong way away.
Just in Denmark at the moment with work. Booked the usual "golf or Equivalent, expected an Auris or V40 as usual. Right Now September seems a loooooooong way away.
"We have for you an A5 Sportback, is that OK?"
Well, I suppose.
So it's a 2.0 Diesel, with some sort of fabric squishy memory foam seats - you can feel your back slowly unsink out of them after acceleration. But it has VC and Auto (7spd) and may initial impression is:
It's like driving a flaming spaceship. More menus than the entire Harvester chain, two screens to try to find everything, thank god I am a bit used to the voice control from the SEAT, at least I can just tell it to go somewhere when I look in the screen menu and it switches the Nav off.
Tried to find cruise - nope - only a limiter. There's stuff going on with VC, and stuff going on on the "iPad" screen.
Not ideal for a 2 day rental ( one for the first world problems thread I guess)
I think it may be the only time I see 50mpg from an Audi in the next two years as well
But Google Maps on Nav is awesome, Driving down what would be a B road in England you can count the bushes!

The cruise is on the same stick as the limiter, you must have pressed the LIM button on top of it accidentally as it defaults to cruise mode when pulled forwards."We have for you an A5 Sportback, is that OK?"

After finally making my mind up on what to change my BiT A6 to (thanks to this thread!!) thought id take a wonder to the main dealer next door to work to start some initial talk and get a demo to try as worried about size with 2 young sprogs dropping from an A6 to an A4, and would the Petrol V6 give the right punch I like from the BiT motor!
I've had some good experience with service but how wrong I was with sales...
About 8 years ago they tried to see me a car I didn't want and couldn't afford, so thought I try again as local this time asked about S4 Avant's....tries to sell me an Diesel A6 saloon.
Apparently no one is buying Avant's, only saloon and S5's
Car wow has some great discounts but would like to give the local one a chance first
any suggestions for helpful West mids Audi dealers? Halesowen I've heard good things about.

[sorry no S4 content] I couldn't get on with my A6 AllRoad BiT and swapped to the A4 3.0Tdi, but with the spec as close to S4 as possible in all respects except (obviously) the engine. My dealer was angling for me to go down the S4 route but I do a fair few long-distance runs and didn't fancy S-fuel bills. The A4/S4 will obviously feel smaller but as a package the car feels whole lot better than the bigger car, and I love it. (3.0 Tdi is plenty fast enough for what I need too.)I've had some good experience with service but how wrong I was with sales...

Shrewsbury Audi were pretty keen to match broker prices when I got my B8.5 S4, but getting a test drive was a challenge. After a month or so they found a 2-year old pre-facelift saloon in their group used stock... (This was near the end of the B8.5 'lifecycle' so they weren't holding onto many demonstrators for obvious reasons)Icehanger said:

My car came from Tamworth, customer service was great. Deal was set up by Simon Moss at Milton Keynes who manages all whatcar lease enquiries then sets them up at dealers who can manage itI've had some good experience with service but how wrong I was with sales...

Have now. Glad mine's just escaped Ingoldstadt. Wonder if those of us whose cars are still 'in transit' will be getting the 'get them out of the door quick before it all kicks off' special editions?

Placed an order on a S4 Avant a few weeks ago - due for build w/c 21/08. However seeing that Audi have now put a hold on the S4 and S5 what do you think the impact will be to my delivery?
Ps it's a lease so can;t reach out to the dealer.
Well the only news (according to Autocar) is that they aren't taking new orders, not that the engines themselves are on stop (as it is the software itself they are wanting to change anyway)Ps it's a lease so can;t reach out to the dealer.

Only issue the test drive left me cold, I wasn't buzzing when I came back, Wife has never seen me so meh about a car before.
Yes its swift but not super fast, virtually no drama and it didn't feel special. I was hoping it would feel like my old S3 but bigger, I found myself getting back in the A6 and liking it more!!
Need another test drive as this cant be right, any doctors about? I've lost my mind
