My S4 is scheduled for build week commencing May 21st and could be ready for the end of June/beginning of July according to the chap dealing with my order.

Although he's given me an order number, nothing comes up on the build tracker when I put the number in there? 'Sorry, order not found' is all I get.

The good thing is, they reckon they can save it until September for me which is better as my GTD goes back in November. However, I'm not too sure I'll have the patience to wait that long if I know the car is sat waiting, argh!

Deal is through Wakefield Audi.

Black’s a bugger to keep clean though and I’ve already managed to scratch it in two places scrubbing off bird muck!
My Navarra blue seems quite soft. I cleaned off some muck and it left a swirl behind. Nothing a bit of Mer polish couldn't immediately fix but it does mean being extra careful.
Thanks, I've ordered some of that Maguiar's Ultimate Compound the other day which I think is similar and will hopefully hide the damage.

Auto Finesse Tripple seems to work well. Had very good results on my Golf R in Lapiz Blue

Moving the discussion on slightly, but is it me or is the UX on MMI a disgrace?

My previous Audi was bad enough, but I felt like sticking my boot through the display while trying to use the nav yesterday.

My 66 plate Audi A6 black edition has the worst and dated Mmi.

My 2006 I drive for my 3 series is better

Got round to ordering an S4 Avant last month - looking forward to it!

How long have you guys waited for a build week to be issued?

The car has been on order for a month now & still no build week, but that being said much of what I read suggests that delivery is 4 to 6 weeks after the build week being issued, so with 12>14 weeks overall from order I'm figuring that waiting up to 10 weeks for a build week may not be unusual - does that sound plausible?

The dealer also stated that I had ordered at the close of MY18 production & that the order would most likely end up on MY19 which may cause delay, which sounds logical, although I don't factually know when the MY change occurs.

Thanks.

I got a order number after about 2-3 weeks then followed the car on the audi tracker. Didn't really have any contact from the broker once I got the order number.

Ordered last Nov and got a build slot for early Feb. Timelines suited me as I have a Passat due to go back this month and delayed collection until the end of March.

One thing to mention when you get your finance docs check the service and maintenance charges, they are quite reasonable. I'm paying £15p/m for service, maintenance and tyres (£13.50 without tyres). Might not need tyres but as hte S4 came on Conti's I know they will wear very quickly.

The tyres wear well actually, I had Conti SportContact 5Ps on a C63 and they lasted 2 years and 18k miles.

Cheers!

I did have a look at the service fees, but it's going to be low mileage & it was working out pretty much 6-1 half a dozen the other, so I left it (kidding myself on by making the monthlies cheaper......)

Fair enough. I'm only doing 5k miles myself, but like the idea of spreading the service costs smile

Planning a trip to France soon and have been looking for a spare bulb kit for the new car given you’re supposed to carry one when driving in France!

Popped into an Audi garage today and the guy there told me they don’t do bulb kits for the S4 as if a bulb goes the car has to go in as they are LED, and they need to replace the whole unit - £217 for a rear indicator & £1,200 for a main headlamp!!

Seems rather steep for a bulb blowing (appreciate LEDs last a lot longer, but still!)

Anyone else heard this too or asked the same question elsewhere?

I did pop to halfords today too and they don’t have any bulb kits with spare LED bulbs, but having to change the whole unit doesn’t seem right...

LEDs are not bulbs, completely different thing. The LEDs in the light unit will probably be mounted on a PCB and so if one goes the whole lot will need changing as a guess. And they wouldnt want you changing the PCB inside the light unit so they would sell the whole unit. Are the rules still applicable to LEDs/HIDs?

They aren't "bulbs", they don't "blow", and they are not roadside-replaceable items.

If you have regular incandescent stop/side/indicators, get spare bulbs for them. don't worry about the headlights.

However, if you want something to show the gendarmes, buy some of these?
