Yeah I read about that Ensurance and thought "wow I bet they really screw the insurance company of the at fault driver". It's absolutely ridiculous what they charge each other for hire cars though. One of my colleagues had a 5 series when his car was in getting repaired after an accident and it was £250 a day or something silly
It's no wonder that insurance premiums are high with this sort of thing going on. They just blame uninsured drivers for the hikes.adyzaky said:

That is quite a lot. Would worry what it may do long term to the auto box though.
Is this not the same tranny as the one in the RS6? The new M5 will have this same tranny too so would have though 460 lbft torque is pretty manageable for the box?IJB1959 said:

I am under that impression
Yeah, maybe so then if the 460 quoted is accurate. All of the S5 specific tuning boxes on sale need an individual verified dyno test as some of the higher figures quoted are a little suspect IMO.Edited by IJB1959 on Monday 26th June 00:16
Found a feature yesterday I hadn't previously seen.
I've not got the VC, so maybe this is standard on there, but when in 'computer view' on the dash if you click left on the steering wheel control it gives you options for a lap timer, and lap statistics.
Setting it on laptimer gives you standard stopwatch functionality, with a digitised oil temp and a boost meter. Totally pointless on the road other than to see how high you can get the boost to go whilst on the confines of a public road.
That same left click on the satnav gives the ability to display a different direction screen, and you can scroll through the short-term memory stats on the bottom of the map.
I'm sure others have found this, or it's all visible on the VC anyway, but it had me genuinely excited yesterday!

On the SB i have at the moment the side bolsters inflate when you start the car up - my coupe ones dont do that.
Is this a setting that I have not seen or something?
Could be easy entry setting on the seats. I have the selected and I know mine inflates on start up. Dont know what the setting does though! Is this a setting that I have not seen or something?

Yes, it's a handy feature. I have mine set with separate RPM & MPH dials (the old fashioned look) rather than the default single one.I've not got the VC, so maybe this is standard on there, but when in 'computer view' on the dash if you click left on the steering wheel control it gives you options for a lap timer, and lap statistics.

Also, some people are not aware that you can add Apple CarPlay apps to the MMI screen by downloading them on your phone. I have added Spotify, TuneIn Radio (internet radio) Amazon music, Audible (books etc) Audio Boom & Connect FM. Fills two screens now.

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, and I think I read this on one of the S5 threads on here but I can't find it; how do I get Spotify on to the console and flick through songs on there? I'm connected via USB to lightning on iPhone and Bluetooth and whilst Spotify will play via my iPhone through the speakers I'm having to access Spotify via my phone to flick through and select tracks

Disable bluetooth on your phone, then plug into cable. Carplay will open and you can then use the Spotify "app" on the Audi interface.Hi guys,
Sorry if this is a silly question...
I have the VC and everytime I start the car, it shows the fuel usage gauge in the left hand half of the display.
Every time I change it to display the map instead. (Nobody wants to see that all of the time )
I can't see a way to set the display to default to the map.
Does anybody know a way I can do this?
