Yeah, i thought i got the number plate (it was private plate vauxhall insignia) but did a check and its come back as a pink vauxhall Adam... biggrin so obviously i've got the number plate wrong biggrin
Sounds like a 'crash for cash' attempt to me, or cos you have an S5 and they don't they just have to get in front due to the inferiority complex some sad people have. I purchased a Road Hawk dash cam. Nice and discreet and is hidden by the rear mirror, and works very well with excellent picture quality.

I have had some great footage of some utter lunatics doing similar. Last one was a Mondao 2.0 CDTI who fractionally missed a 40mph head on collision desperately trying to overtake me in a long line of traffic. He looked pretty stupid though when I passed him on a stretch of uphill dual carriage way though a mile up the road!

Great thanks!. Does the cable just hang down or did you channel it around the windscreen?

Comes with a long cable which you can tuck up under the front roof lining, then down inside the door rubber, under the drivers dash, then into the 12v power socket. Nice and tidy with only the plug cable bit showing, and a couple of inches down to the dash cam from the roof lining. It switches on/off with the ignition and records in a long segmented loop on the 16gb micro SD card that comes with it.

You view the footage wirelessly (or save it to a PC) on your smartphone after downloading the app.

Annoying Rattle From Rear........

I have had this really annoying rattle start on idle, breaking, cornering, and over bumps. Could not suss it out at all. I checked the rear parcel shelves, stuff in the boot, in the spare wheel cover and could find nothing obvious.

Then I thought it may be the exhaust touching something, but no, all looked fine. I then had the annoying prospect of having the dealer check it out to see what they could find so popped in at lunchtime (for the second time this month) and they could hear it but not work out where it was coming from also. The engineer then sat in the back pushing & pulling bits and pieces of trim as we drove around the block. After a while with his ear nearer the floor he said he found the problem!! It was Peppa Pig, Daddy Pig & George rattling around in their plastic car under the passenger seat!..........how embarrassing. rolleyes

IJB almost something similar with me, rattle from baby seat was the culprit in the end! The way cars acoustics are it's almost as if the rattles are 'thrown'
I had what sounded like rattles at the b pillar near seat belt turns out to be dirty and dry door rubbers. car is very well put together.
Also digress anyone changed to classic layout. To get here you press the left menu button on the steering wheel I think I prefer it. You can have Nav in the centre too.

Anyone had odd behaviour from the electric windows? The driver's window went on the fritz for a day and then went back to normal. It's like it didn't know what position it was in so when I opened the door it would drop to half way and then move the normal tiny amount back up when I closed it again. Also the one touch up/down stopped working. Very odd.

I have had two instances of the windows being weird. Rear back window went through a period of going half way down when the door opened then only going up the normal 5mm and leaving the window open. Then last week the drivers window forgot about the two click auto uploaded/down but then has been done this week!

So same issues as you had/have but different windows at different times. At least it mends itself!

Hi everyone, I have had my B9 S5 for almost 4 months and so far loving it. My only gripe being its a little too quiet for my liking. Now I don't want to turn it into some chav mobile with a super loud exhaust. I like the tone of the exhaust however i feel it is very restricted eith silencers etc. I want to know what i could do in terms of enhancing the sound. It also needs to be easily reversible.

I was thinking of getting a custom exhaust company to make a B pipe with no silencers. If anyone has any suggestions or knows of anywhere reputable that will make custom exhaust systems please let me know

No need for any of that. Just unplug the exhaust valves. The details are a little further back on how to do it. Works well unless you want a C63 type of growl then it's an exhaust change for IRO 3k.

Out of interest what have people used to cover both ends of these plugs to stop them getting wet and covered with crap/ road salt etc?

I used plenty of electrical insulation tape.

Yes I just use FM now. Part of the issue is it's really bad at auto swapping between DAB and FM when my Golf and my partner's Sportage do it seamlessly.

Got in the car Saturday and my tyre pressure sensors were alerting...i tried to find out what pressures they were at but it appears Audi doesnt have a reading like my Range Rover did. It just tells you to set them to correct pressures and confirm when this is done.

Anyhoo went to the garage and they were all at 25psi.. so set them to 38psi.

My mpg has gone up from 21 to 26-27mpg!!! and i'm driving it the same!

Only had the car 4 months. Not sure what PSI it left the garage with...

That was low. Mine arrived on 28psi all round, but was advised 38 front 32 rear so changed them. Can't comment on MPG though as I did that from new.

Seems to make no difference in fuel consumption.
