thanks for the tip! would one expect a drop in mpg?
Seems to make no difference in fuel consumption.
Apologies for being thick guys, but would be keen to understand if there was a guide to doing this which I may have missed. Thanks!

Hi I've posted this on the S5 topic because they are similar to the S4 and I all the B9 topic covers is build slot info. I've ordered the S4 today so it will arrive late September, are there any hidden features as my b8s4 had quite a few. I'm also hearing quite a lot of good things about the tuning boxes and that they don't lease a trace on the ECU.

The TDI Tuning box has dropped in price from 649 to 574 - anyone who was tempted might be a bit more tempted now

Those who have the TDI box - still happy?

Anyone gone for the DTUK one?

How much more bhp does your TDI box give and was it easy to fit?

I have an android phone and found out if I select Google maps to navigate somewhere via the android auto MMI, then change to the Audi nav system I get spoken word alerts for speed camera's and any police or traffic warnings during a journey.

So you get the Audi pretty google maps on your MMI/VC with Google voice camera and traffic alerts.

Not essential but a nice feature with the added on camera's POI's.

Might still work if you start a Google map nav from your phone then plug it in and select the Audi nav - which is what my android is doing really

Here is an interesting thread over in the states from a DTUK customer including AFR data for anyone that's interested

http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/77473...

So if anyone's looking to tune their S5 use the coupon code AUDI and the Kit drops down to £550 inc vat and carriage

As a point to note: TDI boxes have similar gains. TDI will also tune it to your requirements at one of their dealers if you ask.

Have you had yours on a dyno yet, or is that a seat-of-the-pants assessment?

I'm not surprised that the more aggressive settings of the DTUK unit can trigger fault codes. Worth checking and clearing with Carista/Torque/VCDS if you need to remove the unit before taking it to a dealer.

Not had a chance to yet as I am in Milton Keynes and TDI in Manchester, but I am going up one weekend soon. Will publish the result. Didn't know DTUK triggered fault codes...that's not good.

It will be generic faults like possible sensor failures, as the engine is actually running more fuel/advance/boost than the ECU realizes, and as it compares those inputs vs the actual "outputs" (i.e speed/acceleration/emissions/knock) it will reach a point where it thinks something must be broken.

If your car is pinking under certain conditions that likely would trigger fault codes too. You won't see them on the dash but they're stored by the ECU.

Fair point, although safe to say that I regularly check my fault codes and nothing has shown with mine so far (have now done 4.5k with it installed).

Would be interesting to know what the S5 stock power is on a dyno. I hear audi are notorious for downplaying bhp and 0-60 times.

In other news my friend also has an S5 B9 his car is booked in for an X-Pipe exhaust mod next week. Will be very interesting to hear the sound difference!

All,

Firstly, I am an idiot.

Slow puncture this morning, topped it up and drove to Euromaster.

Got there opened the boot, loosened spare wheel, no locking wheel nut or tool kit. Looked in pockets either side, nothing. Looking in glovebox and under seats, nothing.

For anyone interested, if you slide the cover shelf out fully, i.e. take it out completely, the tool kit is at the back. I know I am an idiot but having had Audi's previously, I have always known the kit to be under the spare wheel.

Lesson learned!
