2018 S5 Tips & Tricks
Discussion
My MY17 S5 has developed an annoying trick of advising me on the MMI screen that there are delays on my preferred route to somewhere that I am neither going to or maybe ever been. I then have to tell it I don't want messages. It seems to be totally random but occurs when there is no destination set on the SatNav.
Anyone know how to disable this 'feature'?

Winds me up too. I drive to Rochdale (from near Scarborough) about every 2 weeks and I use the sat nav every time (for traffic etc) and it keeps nagging me about this every time I am in the car and there is a traffic jam on the M62 during my normal daily commute. I only care about the traffic on the M62 if I am going to be going on it!Anyone know how to disable this 'feature'?

So I have bought a Ghost and had it fitted.
I did not realise that it allows you to start the car but locks the gearbox in neutral until you enter a code, rather than just not letting you start the car. Great piece of kit and totally stealth (not used the window stickers). Only pain is I keep forgetting to enter the code and have to start all over again, but it is now becoming more of a habit. At least I don't have to worry so much where I park it now thank god.
They are a great bit of kit. Took a week or so for me to always remember to enter it. I like the valet mode too where if it goes in for a service it allows the car to start code free and go up to 29 MPH. Well worth 350 gbp.

Taking delivery of the S5 SB in 2 weeks. Any recommendations re installer? Seems to be priced around £400 at most places rather than £350? I'm based in the South East. Well worth 350 gbp.
Cheers

I contacted Autowatch and they advised me that their registered installer in my area was Sound Secure, he is based in Horley near Gatwick and he covers a large area.
It was £400, but I was happy to pay the full price to know that it was installed by a registered installer who knows what he is doing, and he came to my place of work to install it, he also hardwired in my Dash Cam for some extra beer tokens.
For the Nav issue. Try driving along on a route. No warnings what so ever. Go to join motorway. Road completely shut. Nice man with very large roller sat in front of you..
I was so, so impressed. Turned around. Drove for 200 yards. WARNING blah blah route altered blah. Wife comments on quality of Nav in expensive car etc.
Sigh. They do need to have a bit of a chat with their engineers. Window issues (mine did it again) Nav issues other stuff. On the windows issue. Does it happen to everyone else mostly getting out of the car? Getting in they drop when the alarm is turned off. Getting out. Fifty fifty chance they will do nothing. Have to open door again to make them drop.
Wife’s TT. Never had an issue. Take that system. Use it in new model? Too easy? Right now. Not sure I’d buy another Audi.

For the ghost can you use the numeric keys to enter a pin as that seemed to me to be the best idea. I did email them but never got a response which frankly stopped me from pursuing it as something to get installed. It looked really good but ignoring questions isn’t great.
I believe you can but I didnt use these as it seemed more obvious. You can also use steering wheel buttons mirror controls and elec window switches. nocturne_sa said:

I had mine installed in Watford at Team Impulse. Paid £300 including the fitting of a Rewire Security tracker. Took about 2 hours on a Saturday morning which I spent chatting to the owner who was a good guy.Cheers

Will it be a pain to get this removed at the end of the 2 year lease?

According to my installer no, quite easy.
Doesn't that make it easy for the thief to get rid too?So, have taken the plunge and bought a set of 20x10 (all round) TSW Bathurst wheels in silver with diamond cut spokes (and tyres) for my SB. Should arrive 5th January and will post some pictures when fitted!...should completely change the stance and look of the car which is metallic black.
