I've got a MK3 Leon Cupra 280 Stage 2 (Circa 400ps at moment) and Also a MK2 Golf GTI...
The Clubsport S is what I wish SEAT would build, I know in all reality its just a few little bits such as a thick rear strut brace and netting and big seats but they are "limited edition" unlike the thousands of Cupra 280/290/300 , Golf GTI and Golf R and S3 that have been churned out on a cheap lease.
I would be willing to part with about 30-32k for a Clubsport S, but agree not seen any actually sell on yet.
Had the pleasure of having a play against one the other week .. slower than my Cupra obviously but they do look the part.

Yes I the bramley one sold, it was black wasn't it.
I think I saw a white private sell on eBay as well.
The private black one with the naff photos on auto trader went down to £35k and didn't sell then went up to £36900 and is now sitting at £36700
It can't be long until dealer drop the price to retail just to clear them out ?

The value will come in a few years when people want them as they are limited edition. A little bit like the limited run Renault Megane'sSame with the MK2 Leon Cupra K1 (apart from the K1 wasn't actually a numbered limited edition)

VW have always had "limited editions". Off the top of my head - Campaign MK1, Pirelli MK1, Golf G60 Limited, Golf G60 Syncro, Golf Rallye, Corrado 'Campaign', MK4 Anniversary, Golf Edition 30, Golf Edition 35, Golf Edition 40 and now a Golf Clubsport and a Golf Clubsport S. If VW had made 250 4WD examples with the new 3.0 VR6 Turbo engine, and muscular arches etc,that would be interesting and truly deserving of the word limited. But to take a handful of vanilla Golfs off the production line and sprinkle a few bits over it, and fit it with a generic EA888 engine, take the seats out.....and call it a limited edition....meh.
Limited Edition springs to mind, uniqueness, something no one else has got.....but we're talking about a Golf, of which there are millions.
At least the G60 Limited had a unique engine to set it apart from the myriad other Golfs at the time.

Point taken but the Clubsport is, at least, amazing to drive (which is more than can be said for most of the other specials on your list).Limited Edition = Limited marketing guff.

Father in law recently bought a Clubsport S. It was a bit of an impulse buy and he paid a premium over list. Original owner (flipper/speculator) probably pocketed £3k, the dealer he got it from maybe £1k.
It's one hell of a good car though, massive step up from a normal GTi and more 'fun' than his 12c.
I'd love one but can't afford/won't pay the premium. Clubsport Edition 40 might be on the cards though!

Nearly a fifth of the whole UK production run is on the market at the moment - albeit at over list (though the only ones that are selling are going for much less than most are asking). I reckon you will get one for list soon ... if you want one.
I'm aware of a quite a few CSS's that have sold, majority of them circa £40k, I believe the prices will continue to go up in the next 12 months as they get into the hands of collectors rather than flippers. On AT last week there were only 7 for sale, 1 of those in jersey.
I am also aware that more than one has been exported to Hong Kong as they were never released there, one of those went for 42k pretty much when first landed in U.K.
I have driven many miles in all versions of Golfs, GTI, R32, R's, including edition 30/35, the CSS is by far the best incarnation by far, I also have currently a CSS and a FL Golf R as a company car. The CSS makes the R feel sluggish and lazy!

S is a great drive on road and track.
Need 4 seats get the clubsport.
Simples and £12k cheaper, win win, there is no value in the CSS at £40k when the.clubsport 40th is so damm good. The S was no more Money list so overs vs the CS seem daft if you only care about driving.
finding a 3 door manual with Recaro buckets is not so easy mind you but worth the hunting.

The S is a very different drive (I have driven both). Much better front end and more grunt.
