Just spoken to VW chat and been told my GTI has been confirmed for build week 20, which is week commencing 20th May.
Has your online tracker changed from 'with the factory' to 'build week confirmed'?What was your original delivery date and who did you order through?
Regards the online tracker it is still showing at Step 2 - With the Factory. With no build week confirmed. I went on the live chat as others have to get the details I now have.

Does everyone's car show on the tracker with the right colour?
Can't speak for everyone, but mine does aye.Just spoke to the livechat again. Still sticking with may 22nd for build. Also arranged a test drive. Was going to wait for a test drive but I couldn't help myself.

Has anyone been able to test drive the facelift gti?
I rung around the 4 north east garages and nowhere has them in. They have the R's though so its a bit strange nowhere has the GTI yet.
My local dealer (Berkshire) has one with huge spec (over £40k list price) in the showroom and one available to test drive. I've turned down 2 offers of a run out in it but might go for a spin at the weekend.I rung around the 4 north east garages and nowhere has them in. Let me know if there's anything specific you want to know

What deal was your dealer offering on a GTi now?
Spoke to several dealersDiscounts so far:
£3758
£3852 x2
£2944
£1000
They all include an automatic £1000 discount for taking finance. However, VW dealers clearly aren't interested in selling cars. Narrowed my choice down to two dealers last week. Both promised to contact me ASAP with part ex and finance quotes. 5 days later, neither have bothered. Looks like I'll be buying another BMW.
As a pointer (I think) VW when they have really good deals allocate build weeks in advance. I ordered a new 5dr DSG in Isaac Blue 2 weeks ago (12/4) and have a confirmed build of 10/5 I have to take delivery by 30/6. It's not a stock car. I took it on lease through Central £2400 up front and £186 inc Vat per month plus £150 admin. Total £6828 2 years 8000miles per year. Not seen a better deal.
Not sure if anyone else is aware of this, however on the golfgti forum there is lots of talk around cars arriving without front fogs, a vw bulletin stating that this is basically a balls up by vw uk, later cars will have the front fogs and dealers offering the cost of front fogs (circa £250) as a good will gesture.
Just thought I'd make everyone aware of this.. perhaps someone knows more?

The offer actually seems to be £245 as cost of fog lights plus a further £250 as goodwill gesture. Some are maybe getting more than the £250 as VW don't want a load of rejected cars that then need to be punted out to the cheap lease market.
Shouldn't really affect cars ordered a few weeks ago as builds seem to have been corrected now so it's really just cars arriving now or pretty soon.
