Help - cluster mod software

So I got myself one of those cheap blue cables (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371886304636?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) and installed the driver.

When I load up the VZ software I connect to the com port fine. However when I write list or heartbeat, I just get errors. It's as if the car isn't sending any messages back to the laptop. Has anyone had this issue?

Could someone let me know what specific cable they got working?

It can be a nuisance with getting fake FTDI chips, which may cause issues. It's a bit of a lottery to be honest, but your chances are improved by avoiding China.

This one looks good, but I can't guarantee anything unfortunately.

Cheers just what I needed. I was messing around with an obd2 lead, I didn't realise i needed something like this. I'll get some parts on order
