2011 XF, standard audio. For 9 months I've used a CD with MP3s on it and it's worked perfectly. Now suddenly, although I can see the seconds going up as it plays, there's no sound. Radio is fine.

Is this related to the false 'low screen wash' and 'park brake fault' warnings that have been going on for the last month or two?

After burning another MP3 CD but getting exactly the same result, I finally found the answer.

'Turn the unit off and then back on again'.

I'll live with the continuous 'screen wash low' warning as my main dealer is better at coffee than cars.

Love tech.

A month or so ago the whole screen system on my XKR died, which is a bit of a pain since it controls pretty much everything.
The answer?
Turn it off and back on again.
Computers hey, who'd have them.

Yeah, if I could get my hands on that idiot who told us all 'It will be a lot quicker when we all get computers' I think I would re-boot him (or her so I'm PC)
Can you even begin to imagine how many life hours have been lost switching computers, wifi hubs and the like on and off and waiting for a result?

.........and they want us to have driverless cars???

I'm trawling eBay for a Moggy Minor!

Hey it's computers that let me collect Jaguars :-)
If anyone ever builds one that actually works, I and millions of others will be F**&^ed, but sometimes I do just wish they'd damn well work.

I'm pretty sure the first telly I can remember - a tiny 9" screen valve powered black and white one my dad built from a kit in the late 1950s - could achieve both a picture and sound from initial switch on faster than both my laptop and the stunningly complicated Smart Wi Fi integrated TV I own now.

That's progress then is it? Jeeez...
