Seems like a bargain at £35k, is it?

An acquaintance traded in his '08 Monaro for one. He's a market trader and wears a cap, backwards. It was the R8 or an M5. Not really what you're looking for I suspect... .smile

I suspect Mr Reg's illuminating two-post thread about the roof not going up is one reason. R8s will start their inevitable journey into the hands of people who can afford to buy them but not maintain them, the image will suffer values will continue to drop and only the cars maintained by enthusiasts will survive and then values will go up again. By that time however petrol will be outlawed and we'll all be going around on bicycles or electric boxes, having completely missed out on the flying cars we were promised.

Already happening Yertis (you really need £45k for a proper V8 Coupe).

Same as 911s, bottom end crap off Autotrader is just that. Add a bare minimum of £5k to get the same car from a specialist dealer.

At £35k, they have been absolutely battered, high miles, possibly ex rentals too.

They've been sitting at around £40k for an early one for the past 2/3 years, very little movement in prices.

As above, they've been sitting just under the £40k mark for a few years.

I checked the R35 Nissan GTR on Autotrader today and found this for just under £31k. A lot of car for the money.

I was tempted with a petrol blue gtr but glad I went r8 for similar money, just based on looking more special and exotic. Nothing wrong with the gtr tho

If given the choice I would also take the R8, but the GTR is starting to get a fair bit cheaper.
Maybe I'll have to get a GTR then an R8 haha biglaugh

I had a GTR for 2 years and have now had a R8 V8 for three years, both great cars. The GTR is an absolute weapon,a few upgrades and there is very little that can stay with one but it's also a car you might tire of pretty soon because the rest of the car doesn't really match its performance.
The R8 feels a lot more special, looks great and sounds great and you can also ring its neck to some extent without living in fear of losing your driving license everytime you do so!
