Hi Guys, I am new to the forum so please be gentle smile
I am currently looking to purchase a 20,000 miles 2013 vanquish for £115,000.

Before I place the deposit, I wanted opinions on what you guys think will happen to the depreciation of the vanquish in around 2-3 years time. I would ideally want to purchase the car at the bottom of its depreciation curve where it then starts appreciating. I am however concerned it has not reached that level yet and has quite a bit of depreciation to go since the new style vanquish is due in 1-2 years.

What are your thoughts and what price do you think the 2013 v12 vanquish will drop to at its lowest point?

Thanking you all in advance!
Ashley

They're beautiful cars but not 'special' enough to appreciate

Vanquish S might be the one to keep as the ultimate version of the NA V12.

Hi, do you think the 2013 facelifted DB9 would be a better buy in terms of appreciation or same would it be the same?

I tend to agree.

I've been keeping an eye on the depreciation of a few models (V8VS, DB9 GT, V12VS & 'Facelift' Vanquish) & conclude that after an initial 30-40% drop in the 1st year, expect approx 10% depreciation year on year until it bottoms out at just under £100k. That's based on dealer prices.

David, you're my kind of man and although I've heard the mantra before it's often true.

With Aston upping their prices on new models I agree that circa £100K would be about right.
However Astons are mileage sensitive and most purchasers pay a premium for MD stamps.
Also remember that if as a px with a dealer that £100k becomes say £85k.

I agree.
I think that the 8 speed will hold its price better,if that's your criteria.

I'd say that car would bottom at 90-95k, depending on mileage and spec.

As an aside, I saw an absolutely stunning Vanquish S at AM Cheltenham last week. Their demonstrator, and pretty much how I'd spec one. It's the only modern Aston I'd swap my V12VS for. Unfortunately they'd want my car plus the cost of an International Space Station to change.

Thanks for the advice guys!!
I am now looking for the 8 speed vanquish. I believe they start from the year 2015 so I'll have to increase my budget.

Currently found then at around £140k. £35K more than the 6 speed. Do you think this 8 speed version will also drop to circa 100K?

Thanks again!

£140k now = £92k by 2021 (10% deprecation per year).
Health warning however is these figures are against dealer prices & take no account of 'Other factors' (influence of new models, prevailing financial circumstances etc).

Get yourself an 8 speed rapide S, 552bhp, 90-100k best value going and not so far to drop, also quite rare! Neil

Good call.
Certainly if you are even thinking of putting anyone over 10 years old in the rear seats.
