I did search on the forum for towbar and bike rack but didn't find satisfying answers. I know towbar could be specified from factory but unfortunately I had no choice and now thinking how to carry a bike. I assume it won't fit in a boot and seats are not folding. Bike was recently returned to me so I thought I could use it from time to time and take on road trips.

Anyone fitted Westfalia detachable towbar? Do I need any electrics for simple bike carrier or can I get away without it? If I need electrics, is it easy switch or some more complicated installation?

Looked into roof bike carriers but I don't think it will look good and my bike is too heavy for me to put it there.

If you are going for a rear mount and are driving on public roads, then you will probably need the electrics and a spare number plate. You are not allowed to obscure the lights or the number plate. Some people fit the bikes vertically or high up to avoid, but really negates the benefits of the low down rear fitting.
The towbar option of a removable type is understandable, as it looks better and avoids painful knocks. But please note there is unlikely to be a cycle carrier that fits directly into the receiver, so you will need to fit the towball extension piece and then the carrier.
I would recommend a good electrical connector. 13 pin is more modern and has a better seal. Make sure it comes with proper connectors, not the type which cuts into the harness. All towbars are certified, so should achieve safe function.
In terms of carriers, the platform type involve less bike lifting and come with integrated lights. Make sure your connector is compatible. 13 pin recommended.
I am not sure if there are many single bike carriers out there.
I recommend to check if the carrier gets in the way of boot opening. You can specify tilting but that adds to the weight and the cost.
Most of the platform racks have a vertical frame near the car which is likely to get in the way.

Auxtail.com offer a fixed 2 cycle rack which I expect you could use the outer rail for and still access the boot.
