What brake issues
Google it. There's stuff on the rs246 site. The discs score in sub 20k. The brakes squeal and Audi do little to help as they say it's a consumable item.I kinda hope someone who has bought the rs6 has positive stuff to say which would make it a viable purchase for me!
I guess that explains it. Folks buy the rs6 without knowing about the alloys/brake issues.

I think I have tried to reassure you before but here goes again. The 21s can indeed buckle (2 tonne car and very low profile tyres mix poorly with our roads) - as do BMW alloys on 5 series (I had 5 replaced in 60k on my F11) - but the Audi 20's are forged, very strong, £1000 cheaper and no issues reported (mine has done 27,000). As for the brakes - these cars eat them and 20-25k is typical life. And, yes, some owners report they score and squeal as they get to the end of that life . Mine still have 10k left in them and are silent.I kinda hope someone who has bought the rs6 has positive stuff to say which would make it a viable purchase for me!

If these "issues" are putting you off buying one, it is not the car for you. Buy an anorak instead - far more sensible
You are missing out. Just do it and stop procrastinating. Or stop going on about buying one.
Is that positive enough for you?

I bought my first C7RS6, with 21" wheels and 10K miles on the clock. it ran faultlessly for 3 subsequent years, managed about 24K miles on its first set of front disks and pads, which when compared with a C6 or C5 RS6 is about par for the course. it's about 2 tonnes and auto so it takes some stopping! I serviced it on the service indicator and it worked out a service about every 10-12K miles, again pretty reasonable.
it munched its way through several sets of tyres , but NO wheels. The brakes squeaked from time to time, but nothing I was ever concerned about, they grumbled a bit when the pads were nearly worn out.
It really was a superb car, expensive to run? Yes, but it's a £90k car that has performance to match most supercars, what do you expect?
If it's not for you, don't buy it, but you'll not know what your missing.
OP, enjoy.

Also, this is the first thing anybody with a C7 RS6 should check:

squeeky brakes
if this happens then you really do need to use the brakes much harder than you are already doing.Take for a blast down the road and then stamp on the brakes if you get the hazzards working all the better this will bed the pads in.I had a faint squeek on mine but after a track day no more issues.

Had this on mine just need a hammer and large screw drive or chisel to tap the firewall clip clear of the hose. You do have to lean right over the engine bay to see the hose mentioned.A friendly bunch; if a little obsessed with each other's mums.

Quite. I'm currently driving an RS3 previous owner did a good number of motorway miles in. Definitely due some hard use to clear them.if this happens then you really do need to use the brakes much harder than you are already doing.Take for a blast down the road and then stamp on the brakes if you get the hazzards working all the better this will bed the pads in.I had a faint squeek on mine but after a track day no more issues.
