There have been some very competitive lease deals on offer for the new VW Arteon in the past few days.

I've just placed an order for one (2.0 TSI R Line DSG in pure white), suspect I'm not the only one.

Thought I'd start a thread for any Arteon discussions....

I’ve only seen one on the road on the a1/M1 link at Leeds a couple of weeks ago - looked gorgeous in the sunshine in the gold / orange colour I believe it was the 2.0 TSI R Line DSG as well

I think that colour is called Turmeric. I've ordered white, as didn't fancy the standard grey. Some of the metallics look good, but it's hard to justify the extra expense on a lease car.

I had a look at one last week, it is REALLY nice. The exterior is beautiful, the interior is obviously Passat but no worse for that IMHO.

I am quite tempted.

Ordered grey one with keyless, dynaudio and area view from fleetprices.

Ordered a grey R line with the only addition of a reversing camera. Can’t believe it didn’t have one! My wife had a Toyota Argo a few years ago (a car less in need of a reversing camera I can’t think of, given it was so small and boxy) as standard. This however, really does need one in my opinion. View out of the back wasn’t great, plus it’s pretty long.

Got 2k deposit and 223 per month for 24 months on 8k per annum.

I did try my two local VW dealers to match but they couldn’t get anywhere near.

The dealer I ordered from had 62 enquiries in one day so I don’t think the deal will be about for long.

By going direct to a dealer did also manage to save the usual £180/300 arrangement fee that the lease companies charge. on the flip side I’ve got to collect it and return it, so it’s probably not a massive saving.

Just the standard no cost grey. I’ve had a few grey hue cars recently and I really like them as colour. This is the first one not as a cost option, so I just touched lucky!

I’m also after some techy type advice on the seats.

I didn’t order the massage function, as options seem to start to mount up quite quickly to monthlies on leases nowadays. It used to be (in my experience) the cost of the option was broken down and came out quite reasonable. however on the last few I’ve had they’ve tended to just lump the whole cost of the option on and spread it over the lease term which seems a bit cheeky (and costly on a short lease.)

Assuming the gubbins of the seat are all standard I’m making an assumption that the massage function is already in the seat. As the massage itself is operated by the touch screen a software flash may “unlock” it?

I’ve come across similar in the past, so hoping this is the case here!

I've just bought a 2016 Passat R Line, absolutely loving it.

Is it me or are snotty sister Audi losing a bit of ground at the moment in the design stakes? Interior is far better than what i'm seeing against Audi at the mo.

Adding the standard spec items interior wise to a comparable A5 adds at least 1.5k to the cost (virtual cockpit, nappa leather etc.) Given the very competitive lease costs on these compared to an Audi (albeit there isn’t a exact direct comparable to a 190 petrol ) it works out roughly £150 per month extra, plus about 1k extra deposit to have an Audi instead. That's before adding matching size wheels or other items.

Like for like options for Audi are also more expensive which is really, really cheeky, seeing as it’s possibly the same part number!

For example rear view camera VW £315, Audi £450.

Just illustrates what a good deal this is really.

It definitely costs a lot more to spec up a A5 Sportback to match an Rline, 19" alloys £900, leather £800, privacy glass £375, tech pack for the virtual dash £1400, folding mirrors £225, flat bottom wheel £100, adaptive cruise/collision detection £1250...the list goes on. Also you get DSG on these deals, you have to get the £41k Quattro A5 190 TSi to get an auto gearbox.

Just had confirmation of order. 12 week delivery time. They did look for a stock car for me, but not too many in circulation that aren’t pre registered demos.

What lease company are people using to get these Arteons? Are they all pretty much the same or is there someone in particular who has a better offer?
I'm liking the idea of an R-line DSG.

I used Fleet Prices on a 3+23 at £280 for 10k pa (RLine DSG). I do 18k pa, but it worked out cheaper to pay the excess rate that to pay for the mileage up front. CVL's price is similar, but with £2400 deposit and smaller payments thereafter. I think they do 5k pa deal which is quite competitive though.

Took delivery last week of a Black Arteon (Elegance version), with black wheels and tinted glass. Replaces an Audi A5. It's a lease car, but a company lease rather than a private one.

Loving it so far. Will take some pics later today.
