Is there any other forum relevant for Arteon?
Not too many cars around I suppose.
Anyone wants VW Connect with their car?

Hi guys, so I could do with your opinions!
I missed the Arteon deal but my broker has got me a R line 190ps tsi DSG for £289 a month with an initial payment around £1700. That's 10k miles over 2 yrs.
Now the reason I placed the order is because I have been waiting on an Audi A4 Avant black edition 1.4T manual since July but still have no build date because of 19" rotor wheel issues.
That deal came in with again £1700 initial but £247 a month at 10k over 2yrs.
My broker has my name against both cars so I can basically pick which one I want, both cars have no extras, the Audi is black the Arteon Urano grey.
What would you guys pick? the build time will most likely be Feb or march next year for both vehicles.

I guess it depends how much you value the auto gearbox? Normally these are pricey options, but the good deals on Arteons have been for the DSG model, which is good news. But if you have no preference, the Audi may appeal - it’s more prestigious in many people’s eyes, and is pretty well equipped in Black Edition spec, though not as comprehensively spec’d as the Arteon. But it is a bit cheaper too. Some also say the 1.4TFSI engine is a bit sluggish, is strong performance important to you?I missed the Arteon deal but my broker has got me a R line 190ps tsi DSG for £289 a month with an initial payment around £1700. Finally got round to driving mine a decent distance yesterday - trip down to France to visit some friends for a birthday party.
Some observations -
Pros -
It's a lot quieter than the Audi A5 it replaced.
It seems to have an "idiot" function - prevented me from doing something stupid with the flappy paddles when I was a bit distracted.
It's quite quick for a 2L diesel, although I think it's got about 40HP more than the Audi.
Cons -
Switchgear doesn't quite have the Audi quality
fk me the seats are hard - after an hour I needed to take a break. Hopefully they'll soften up. Don't remember having this problem in the Audi.
Sat Nav was designed by a 7-year-old. Nowhere near as good as the Audi.
DSG is a slug in drive, needs to always be in sport mode.
I think I prefer it to the Audi, but I'll keep using my 50 year old Alfa

The DSG is a nice touch as I feel the Audi pedals are offset to the right which I think will grind over time (not as bad as BMW but that's another story). However the DSG is not enough to sway me, the DSG and the space the Arteon provides makes the A4 seem cramped inside and I have two small children in car seats. As for performance I'm not too bothered, neither cars main focus is hooning so economy is king in that respect. I do feel very torn between the two.

Electric mirrors stopped working on Wednesday - they turned themselves up (like they do when you lock the car) while I was driving - and stayed there.
This happened at the start of a 450km trip. Amazing how focused you need to be, driving without mirrors.
Booked into the garage Tuesday.

Hey oldaudi, I had a message from my broker saying there were issues with lead times on the car and he gave me a contact number for Dundee Audi. After speaking to a nice gentleman called Rob he informed me there were issues with the Rotor wheel supplier and also some bits of trim for the Avant black edition models. This issue was apparently Europe wide. I still have no build date but if you put your order number into the Your Audi part of the website you can see your vehicles current status.

My golf R did this, and then did it intermittently on and off for a couple of weeks. Took it to VW and they could find no fault or error codes. This happened at the start of a 450km trip. Amazing how focused you need to be, driving without mirrors.

Re-reading this thread, the deals in the UK on the Arteon seem amazing - I'm paying a lot more here in Belgium.
Would be interesting to hear what's included in the UK -
My lease is for 30.000 km per year, changing at 5 years or 150.000 km, and includes maintenance, tyres (plus winter tyres) and insurance for any driver over 25. All I have to pay for is fuel.
Will look up the exact lease price tomorrow.

Hi i am waiting delivery for Arteon R Line tsi 190. Initially I went for the standard paint but then I chose solid white. I also added a reverse camera, I wanted to add the 20 inch alloys but upgraded suspension is also required. Which does not make sense on a 2 year lease. I still haven't seen one on the road yet, saw yellow in vw showroom looked amazing.
I was lucky enough to get the early lease deals.
Car will be delivered in a few days will post photos.

Your deal seems much more inclusive than most here.Would be interesting to hear what's included in the UK -

Most are non-servicing, for relatively low mileage - 30K a year is unheard of, the headline quotes are often for 7.5K (5K Miles)! - shorter term leases (2 or 3 years) and insurance is the driver's concern.
Definitely not a like for like comparison.
