Is an electric tailgate standard or an option?

It’s an optional extra.

You can’t see the old school clock in the middle of the dashboard above the hazard lights button?

That's one of the ones I can see. My Sirocco had one on the dash as well

Is yours an SE? I thought that they still had a clock in the top right of the MFD screen between the clocks?

On a side note, if anyone would like a nice broken in turmeric yellow 280PS R-Line, mine will be available at some point in April

If you've got digital cockpit, it should be on the top of the screen, there might be an option you need to tick in the menus to get it to display

Having a quick dig online, it looks like it displays the time on the left 'dial' as it were so it would be in the view options, am only guessing as I've not had a play with VW's version of digital cockpit, only active info

Anyone found the single CD player in the SE (as stated in the brochure - caveat 'not Discover Pro')?

And another one - I put 69 litres of unleaded in my car last week. Admittedly it was on zero range at the time, but i drove it on to the forecourt. The range then went up to 685 miles after that. But the odd thing is the fuel capacity in the car manual states 60 litres.

On VWs/Audi’s etc the CD player is normally in the the glovebox

Exactly - but the box has no CD slot! Starting to think the SE part of the brochure is largely made up...

Any SE owner care to comment on the fuel and CD issues?

Not 69 litres, but my largest fill was 63 litres, with 55 miles range remaining in my 190TSI SE.

I haven't even thought to look for a CD, though having checked now, nope, no CD.

There are some odd things going on with this car - fuel tanks bigger than the manual says, lots of missing spec.Has any SE owner activated 'Speed Assist'? thats the system that makes ACC adapt to speed limits and reads signs etc. I have a speed limit sign come up on the dash but not sure if its reading it or just in the memory.

Also I have the standard nav system but no SD card or disc.....

I've not activated speed assist, but traffic sign recognition is working as you would expect, it is definitely reading signs as it picks up the variable speed limits on the M1/M25 when I have been on there.

I had noticed that the brochures, price list and on-line configurator were not aligned when I ordered my car. The on-line spec seems to have been the most representative, which is what I expected. Nothing that I am concerned about to be fair as its mostly cosmetic stuff, so I don't miss it.

I am left wondering about the audio system, because in comparison with my old Skoda Superb, the sound quality is absolute crap. I wonder if this is linked...

Reffro - when you say 'activate' speed assist - you mean there is a tick box for it in a menu? I have yet to find it.

Sound system - I take it you don't have the single CD player in the glovebox either?

Sound quality - very subjective but I am impressed - its so much better than my 2018 Audi A4 S Line which was really crap - partly due to the fake speaker they use in the rear.

- I think it is there, but have never looked for it. I usually prefer to set my own agenda regarding speed limits, therefore except for 30/40 limits, generally judge a safe speed according to the conditions, officer....

- Coming from the Superb, which had the Skoda branded version of same nav/audio in the Arteon (or so I thought...), the Arteon audio is sh*te. Fewer speakers I think and definitely no subwoofer. At only medium volumes the sound is fluffy and indistinct, plus my door cards will vibrate in sympathy. If it wasn't for the current situation I would have it in to the dealers to fix/improve.

Thanks for coming back to me.

'Speed Assist' is the system that regulates the cars speeds when cruising with ACC and adapts to speed limits, roundabouts, bends etc. I don't mean the speed limiter - thats different and comes up in the Driver Assist tick box menu. Starting to assume a lot of the kit and features in the Arteon brochure under 'SE' are missing, such as:

Single CD Player
3-colour interior lighting
Speed Assist

I'm not too bothered about it - the lighting would have been nice and if I wanted the whole package I could of course paid extra and had an Elegance or R-Line.

OK, now had a play in the Vehicle Settings, you can activate options through the vehicle settings menu. Find the drop down for the ACC and select the options for road layout and permitted speeds. Whether this is Speed Assist or predictive cruise control that is mentioned in the Owners Manual I'm not too sure, as i have only just activated those options, I have yet to test them whilst driving.
