Octavia vRS 245 lease thread

Starting a separate thread for all of us who’ve signed up to the recent good vRS 245 lease deals.

My deal was from NVS just before they lowered the price, but as follows:

Initial: £2,400
Monthly: £164
Admin: £240
DSG hatch
No options
10k miles PA

Its not a base model, there is an S SE and this next I think, a Golf GTD has the same deposit but is £194 a month, I think the monthly cost seems low but the deposit is fairly high, didnt think it was too bad though, not sure what else would represent better value ?

What is the best deal currently available, are Hortons the cheapest out there at the moment. Does anyone have the contact details for Horton?

I'm halfway there with this, lead times not great for us but will buy a VERY cheap car for the wife to use over winter or use the Audi Cabriolet we already have (which isn't too suitable!)

Currently deciding between the NVS deal (who we have our current Cactus with), Horton and a local dealer (which is attempting to match, with a cheque to offset the deposit difference).

OP, when did the NVS deal get reduced?

These Octavia deals are quite tempting for someone who has never leased before.

Just wondering if there are any alternatives to the VRS that are similar performance and size wise for a similar price?

Also, what's a base spec Octavia equipped like?

It's the same price as on what car leasing. Average lead time is 17 weeks according to Paul.

I ordered at the end of Sept thinking it was a special short term deal then at start of Q4 in Oct the monthly price for a DSG hatch had dropped to £151 I think. Oh well, I was happy with my original deal so no big deal I suppose.

Had confirmation last week of build date week 1 2018 and delivery end of Jan.

I asked Simpsons about the servicing and they said it would need 1 service over the 2 yrs on 8k per annum.

I was all set to order an estate, but thought i better go see the car in person yesterday:

1 - the boot on the hatch is bigger than the boot on my A4 avant! Quite surprised by that and made me question the need for an estate.

2 - Interior (for me) sadly did reflect the price. Felt a little basic (though unfairly being compared to the A4).

3 - Those wheels are rather hideous in the flesh. Wheels on the diesel version are far nicer, shame they cant be specced.

I didnt get to drive it as the VRs i saw was a customer car, but did sit in the next trim level down - but would assume it would be similar build quality

Im still tempted by it, (esp the hatch now ive seen the size of it) given the price of the car, the kit you get and the engine, but might wait til the end of the month before doing so as Simpsons said the offer would be on til then - though given how much demand there seems to be on this board, might not make it that long.

Found this in the Octavia price list pdf :-

"When you order your Octavia, you can choose whether your car is on a fixed or a flexible service regime. Your ŠKODA retailer will help you decide which regime suits how your car will be driven, enabling your car to stay in the best possible shape.

Fixed regime: service every 10,000 miles or one year (whichever comes first). This is recommended if the vehicle is likely to be used in the following way:

Driven fewer than 10,000 miles per annum.
Mainly short journeys, driven mostly in towns or cities.
High vehicle loading/towing and frequent hill climbs.
Heavy accelerating and braking, using high revs.

Flexible regime: Sensors in the engine detect when a service is needed. A service light will show between 9,000 and 20,000
miles or up to 24 months (whichever comes first)"

It's not base. You get adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, fog lamps, power windows all round, satnav, trip computer, rain sensor.

The vRS 245 lacks adaptive cruise control though it does have everything else plus more bling, electric and heated front seats, lane assist.

The 2.0 tdi SE Tech is £21,330, whereas the vRS 2.0 245 Manual is £27,595

Adaptive cruise is a £565 option, a rear parking camera is £375. Dynamic Chassis Control is £850.

I signed up on 30 Sept and was told the build slot by NVS on 2 Oct when the order was confirmed.

If it’s going to arrive after your current lease ends it’s worth asking for an informal extension to your current lease. Some funders are lenient in that regard and give you a bit of leeway.

Did you sit in a 245? I saw a 230 and a 245 the other day and the seats in the 245 looked a lot nicer to me. Probably a nicer interior than my (cloth) Mk7 GTD.
