well it kind of doesn't really matter to the funder about the condition if you are buying it. The price is the price, and if you've fked it up over the course of the contract then you're just buying less car for the same money.

You just need to email them and point out the facts as mentioned earlier. A lot of VWFS stuff is auto generated
and they rapidly climb down when challenged on most aspects. I wonder why they don't revise and update their
stems but I guess there is always a group of customers who will just pay anything asked without question.
Thanks. I emailed them a couple of days ago with no response. Tried again to speak to them with no success. I initially tried to return the car in March but it was them who kept cancelling on me.

Do they base the prices they offer the car for sale at back to you on an assumed condition?
I'm going through this with BCA at the moment.

All they asked was the vehicle mileage. A quote for me to buy was issued within a few minutes - this was on a par with WBAC's starting price, and £3k-£4k below dealer retail.

Completed the order form and the invoice from BCA turned up next day.

Couldn't have been simpler.
Thanks. I might buy my vRS 245 if the price is good. Means I’ll put a new set of tyres on the back to get rid of the sawtooth rumble!

Have you tried https://www.purchasemyvehicle.co.uk/ ?

You'll need your agreement to hand.

This might have been answered in the thread already but couldn't find anything.

Our Golf GTI is due back in June and was wondering if VWFS get in contact prior to the end of the PCP deal to discuss what you want to do with the car?

It's likely that it will be worth more than the GFV so I might consider paying off the finance and selling privately.

I started to receive correspondence from both VWFS and BCA when the end of my lease was maybe 2-3 months away.

I emailed VWFS and they gave me a very good price on my Touareg, so it’s well worth asking them direct.

Might do that in Jan. Missus is a bit bored of the Golf, actually prefers my TT. And I'm fancying a change as well. So she gets the TT and I get something new. Might suit us both.

A while back I returned 2 year old Leon Cupra to VWFS and they offered me to buy it at the 1800 £ cheaper than anything similar from the dealer / autotrader. However, they explicitly told me that there will be no more warranty with the car and I will have to buy an extended warranty.

Hmm, actually, scratch that. Just been on to the VWFS website for the first time and have noticed that it's signed up for a 4 year contract instead of the 3 that I am adamant that I agreed to.

Settlement amount is 16,370 and according to Autotrader it's worth 16,360 on trade in or 18,220 on private sale.

I got a reasonable price for our Skoda company car which is due to go back in early January so we are going to buy it. If you factor in the cost of whatever additional charges that might be added after it's been returned and inspected plus the additional mileage charge that would be due on ours, then it becomes a good price and I am happy to keep the car. The tax on business leases is becoming a bit too steep now.

My experience:
Returned my Skoda in December and BCA inspection was very thorough, taking about 45 minutes, with videos and detailed photos taken of everything and the inspector was personable and fair and just got on with his job. The car was in excellent condition with <15k miles on clock. I thought I would probably be charged for two tyres but left them to their opinion as they were borderline, plus two passenger side wheels I knew would be chargeable. I live on an A road blind bend and play chicken every night reversing into my drive at speed, so my wheels never make it the distance on my cars biggrin

He picked those up as chargeable and added a small scratch/nick on back and front bumpers, plus said a 3rd wheel was chargeable. Given the wheel refurb charges are £36 (bargain) and the nick on the back was under £30, I was fine with them. What I wasn't pleased with was the nick on front bumper, which he said was "joined" on to a small scratch and overall that took it over length by a 2mm and so needed a respray at £110. I said it was overkill as it wasn't even visible when stood back 6ft (no one would respray that) but told him I understood if he needed to add it based on the rulebook.

Overall the estimate was a touch under £500, with £260 of that being tyres and, despite horror stories on tyre charges, these were about £10 under anything I could find online for the same 19" Pirelli P-Zero tyres, so very reasonable. No signature required due to covid and the guy said if I wish to challenge anything I should call VWFS once the itemised bill came through because they might remove some of the estimated charges before billing.

When the bill came through from VWFS, still at £500, I called and challenged on the £110 nick and, while the call handler did his job well and put up an initial fight to say evidence is clear, I persevered and said I disagreed that it was a respray for that and he said will refer it on internally for review. Around 3 weeks later I got a letter offering to reduce the bill by £150 ish (the nick on front, plus the 3rd wheel), stated purely as a gesture of goodwill, which I was pleased with as it was more than I expected.

Overall, it was a perfectly clear, personable and fair process and I would definitely use VWFS in future if leasing again.

I've got my SEAT Arona due to go back in a couple of weeks & wonder if anyone's got any experience of the following...

First, like an idiot, I've managed to have several scratches on the back bumper (plastic bit) - the paint has scraped off, each scratch in itself is about 2mm by 25mm ish, but there's about 5 of them all on the same panel. The pricing on the standard price list is 'per panel, so just getting confirmation that I'm only looking to have to pay one of these(?!) Local repairer wants £264 for it, which is more than double the price list, so that's why I'm checking!

Secondly, fairly early on into the lease, I *think* my neighbour reversed into my car, but not 100% sure when it happened, just know I didn't damage it, but anyway, the front grille is damaged and surprise surprise so is the front radar. I'd made an appointment for this to get fixed at main dealer, but the part is on back order from the factory.. Does anyone have any experience of problems like this where you haven't actually managed to get the repair done before the lease ends? The quote from the main dealer is c. £1.2k(!) Is there any possibility that VWFS would want to charge more if the part doesn't come in to the dealer before my car's collected?

Did you pay the higher bill then have the money refunded? Or did you just wait for them to offer a lower price and pay the reduced value?

You can contact them after receiving invoice. They will issue new invoice if previous one was incorrect or they agree to waive a charge. You have to keep on top of it, because in my case they didn't re-issue new invoice as promised on the phone and I had to chase it again, by which time, I was already getting letters about debt collection. And I'm talking about small amounts. I paid £55 for damage straight away but complained about incorrectly charged excess miles.

VWFS sent me a bill for £1065 when i returned my S6 based on the BCA report. Nearly fell over. Bit of back and forth and common sense prevailed when they looked at the actual photos and reduced it by £765. I could live with £300 as I couldn't even get it properly cleaned under lockdown and there were a few scratches that needed a polish out.

My A4 Avant was inspected and collected last Tuesday 19th. Guy was thorough. Knew I'd get pinged on at least 2 of the alloys due curbing. I had a chip in the windscreen but passenger side, Auto glass did fill it but it was at the size limit for them and was still noticeable. Some wally reversed into me in the supermarket and scratched the rear bumper/quarter panel. I did manage to get most of it out with some wet and dry then a few passes with the DA.

Was worried how much he'd mark down but he didn't care for the windscreen, charged me for the scratches on the bumper, and some scratches on the door (that weren't there so will challenge this) so not too bad, think it came in at £320ish

Got a text and letter so say I owe VWFS money (I don't) spoke to the chap on the phone and apparently they get this all the time with their automated letters they send out. Said ignore it.

Any idea it will take for the proper bill to come through? I'm 8.5k under mileage so think I've got a good chance to wipe off the door damage. Also put new tyres on all 4 corners a week before lockdown!

From my experience I was told to make sure the car was as filthy externally as possible when the guy comes to collect it
I did exactly this and result was he could not see anything under the muck such as dents, scratches etc so no charges . Mind you car was in pretty good condition to be fair with only 1 scratch under the bumper where it probably drove up to a kerb , but he never saw that.
The interior was very clean so I guess it showed I lookked after it
