I’ve got a build wk of 14th May, what’s the anticipated lead time thereafter? Appreciate it can vary with shipping etc but any guideline would be appreciated.

Ta.
3-4 weeks typically in my experience.

I am also waiting for an S4 ordered from CVL to replace my 66 plate Golf R estate in September/October

still waiting for the order tracking number. Does anyone know if all CVL S4 orders are from a single dealer ?

I saw the S4 deals a few weeks back but let it pass me by as my Golf doesn’t go back until September. Doesn’t stop me looking tho!! And yesterday I stumbled across the S6 at £3500 down plus just under £400/month. That sounds pretty sweet doesn’t it? And they said lead time is September anyway so that’s pretty much meant to be isn’t it???

And with twice the engine (literally), what's not to like?

Do get an insurance quote first though. My Golf R (2016) is group 34, surprisingly rising to group 39 for the 7.5MY Golf R Estate (it's only 10bhp more!). The S4 is group 36. But the S6 is 47. I can only speak for me but the S6 would more than double my insurance premium.

Because the ACC is no longer standard
If you spec the car with ACC and tell your insurance company the quote will usually come down.

No idea where you got that info from, ACC is most certainly standard on the 7.5.

I think he meant the S4 and S6 no standard ACC , the R 7 and 7.5 are actually higher standard spec for safety features then the S4/S6

It’s stupid that the golf has ACC and the S4 doesn’t.

I really use the ACC a lot but I’m not going to pay the silly cost for it on lease. Wouldn’t buy one without it though.

From the Golf R page on the Volkswagen website...
You're probably correct though. I haven't looked at the spec sheet

So from May 1st to mid September when my insurance runs out it would be £63 more than the golf R. Good enough for me!!

Not bad! If that is representative for the full year from September that’s pretty good value

I miss it from my Golf R, but wouldnt have paid the £1100 or whatever to add the "Drvier Assist Tour" pack to my S5.

ACC is definitely standard on Golf R models.

yes it was standard i believe since 2014 on the original 7 R , Damn the R is difficult to beat for Value/Features as Standard. I guess as soon as you turn to Audi you have to expect everything to be an option biggrin
