MK6 Golf GTD - Possible to add DAB and bluetooth?

I own a MK6 Golf GTD which has the head unit with the reversing camera.

As i understand, because of the reversing camera it wasn't possible to spec the build with bluetooth.

I'd like to upgrade either the head unit or somehow retrofit bluetooth and dab radio.

Does anyone know if this is possible with the reverse camera and what the best system to do it would be?

What head unit's in there now? RCD 510?

You'll be able to add bluetooth, with the official RCD510 underseat module (see ebay)

Yes it’s he RCd510 - can I have Bluetooth on it when I’ve got a reverse camera though? Or is it just dab module that can’t be added in conjunction with rear camera ?

I vaguely remember that VW offered a choice between DAB or reversing camera when these were new. Both effectively no cost options but it was one or the other.

If you want to retrofit DAB you'll need to replace the headunit in it's entirety. Maybe the DAB versions don't have an input for the reversing camera?

Bluetooth as mentioned by a few is just a case of buying the 9W7 module and mic

This is my theory on this:
The RCD510 (non nav unit) was a different unit based on whether it had DAB or not (different button and could have been different manufacturer) so I am guessing the DAB version doesn’t support a reversing camera.

If you have the RNS510 (the big screen nav) then although a dab version was made for other VWG cars it wasn’t available on the mk6 golf (as came along towards end of production) You can just fit the dab version (with the correct antenna) but they aren’t cheap.

As far as I’m aware it should be possible to fit Bluetooth to both the RCD510 and RNS510 as it’s just a 9w7 module, harness and mic required, then enabled via vcds
