Hi

Bought my Daughter a 2012 1.2 TDI POLO.

But the Headlights at night are really really Awful...they are Halogen bulb equipped.....Has anyone made these any better by installing LED bulbs or even changed the whole headlight ssembly to have projectors etc?

I have read about different Bulb upgrades but for the price are they worth it?

Thanks alot everyone and happy new year.

If the glass is clean and not hazy then maybe try a set of upgraded bulbs such as the osram night breakers.
Changing the headlights will get expensive.

They could be the original bulbs and they dim over time.

Do a bit of Googling - such as: https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/76...

Then buy some, and let us know what you think.

Check the voltage at the bulb connector with the bulb still in it. On a couple of older cars I have seen the voltage being as low as 9v, on my peugeot it was a matter of cleaning the grounds and connectors, on the calibra everything seemed ok but voltage was still low.
i added a fused relay harness with heavy gauge wires and the difference was fantastic.

Have a look on - www.powerbulbs.com - , I would recommend Osram nightbreakers, or Phillips Extreme vision

As said- hazy glass. Then there's the lamp/ wiring connector going HR.
I've got a 04 Fabia (same car ,different maker ) and those both figure in my pre winter check. I've had to replace both dip connectors as the plastic had melted and de hazed the lens a few times.

So my mrs polo had bad headlights so thanks to you guys i bought some osrams. That seem to be much brighter to be honest.

I have noticed though that when i turn them on, that they have got a glazed look, i have polished the outside but it seems the inside has the plastic glazed ? Have a look thanks chaps
