Lease isn’t extended and payment hasn’t increased.

I can’t see how a payment holiday can effect credit rating?
From the VWFS website

Will my future monthly payments increase?

Yes, your future monthly payments will increase when you take a payment deferral. This is because the payments which you have not made during the payment deferral period and the additional days’ interest will need to be repaid by spreading them across the remaining term on your agreement.

Will there be an impact on my Credit File from signing the modifying agreement?

Neither the payment deferral nor the modifying agreement will have a negative impact on your credit file, however, we and other lenders may take into account other information resulting from a payment deferral when making a decision to lend to you in the future.  Please note that there may be a slight delay in updating your credit file status once a payment deferral request has been made.

Hi All, Just returned to this thread and didnt expect to see lots of chatter - the thread didnt get any traction to start so I had abandoned it for the most part. Made up to see more people leaving comments :-)

In terms of Google Maps it wasnt active when the car arrived so it there was a setting or two to get it working. If anyone needs help I can try and advise. Regards VDCS, there doesnt appear to be the option to turn the lighting different colours. The one part I am gutted about is not having the optional ambient lighting but my car was a pre-order so I couldnt change the spec.

What I am aware of is that via VDCS you can activate the Dynaudio sound profile thus making the stereo sound much better. I am researching more about this at the moment.

The car is my wifes as I got one of the 840i cheap leases earlier in the year but we use it as the main weekend car. Overall I love it but here is my two-pence worth;

Likes
- Looks. I think its one of the best looking SUVs out there especially in Black Edition spec. There is something very 'tonka truck' about it and it looks mean from the front with the lights on especially.
- Spec (Black Edition) - bar a fancy stereo and the ambient lighting there isnt anything missing
- Engine - smooth and refined for a diesel and very gutsy. I was and am still surprised at how quick it can move
- Performance - exceeded my expectations
- MPG - very reasonable. Getting over 30mpg around town and seen 45mpg on the motorway. Neither my wife or I are lightfooted
- Comfort - The ride comfort for something this big and heavy on 21" wheels is outstanding
- Space - tons of it

Gripes
- Ambient lighting not standard on this top spec model
- Some lower quality scratchy plastics especially on the lower half of the interior
- Basic switchgear - some of the switches are very square and cheap like the memory seats on the driver door. However, acknowledge this is how VW and Audi for example differentiate themselves
- Odd occasion the gearbox can be lazy but this is a very minor issue for me. Wifes previous Audi A6 40tdi was horrendous for gearbox lag and laziness
- Everything operated from touchscreen. You get used to it but i like actual switches for things like climate control
- Seats - a little too firm but they are getting better the more they are used

Anybody has any questions give me a shout. I have to say I really like this car - never had an SUV before but the visibility, comfort, space and gusto make a great combo and I love driving it.

Not really planning any mods - might wrap the front lip that is for some reason chrome even on the black edition. Tempted to have the calipers done red but my wife wont care so might not bother.

Simon I’d be interested in the google maps
If you go to the main sat nav screen (full screen sat nav) there be will an on screen option called view. You need to select satellite

It wasn't payment holiday, it was VWFS promotion 3 months free. Promotion was in 3rd quarter only.

Sorry what do you meant by final payment? It’s just a lease so no final balloon payment?

Those with a Touareg, do you know if you can remote start your car from an app? I have the We Connect app but I can only unlock the car and turn lights on from it?

I took delivery of my MY21 Touareg Black Edition the other week. I contacted VW regarding this when setting up my We Connect app, but was told that I would have needed to have selected the 'Park Assist Pro including remote control parking' option to have this feature.

Has anybody had issues with 'Emergency Call Restricted - Please visit workshop'? Started intermittently on mine but then became a permanent warning on the dash. Took it to VW this week and it needs a new Antenna, which happen to be on a backlog of orders so wondering if it's a common issue. Only covered ~2000 miles!

One thing that I really dislike is the way it picks up at low revs. Sometimes it doesn’t even change gear to 2nd until gone 3k. Then other times the pick up is so bad and it kicks in and flies you forward.

Yes agreed. Off the line its irratic. Its a difficult car to drive at a medium pace because the gearbox either wants to be at 1100rpm or 3000rpm.
The benefits of being at low rpm is the excellent fuel economy and its no bother if you're a slow driver.

Then it's happy to to go like a stabbed rat when needed especially in sports mode.

It's at 1500-2000rpm and you give it half throttle it gets confused. I'm finding if I want to accelerate out of a corner at 6/10th I'm hitting the accelerator 2 second before.

Its a quirk more than an issue. It's a very good car.

Hi All,
has any noticed anything similar to what looks like frost or caked on salt on the underside of their new touareg?
I noticed this today, its located on the driver side rear wheel. Its not cold to the touch and it crumbles o tiny salt like grains.
Thank in advance.

My wife has the Tourag in our house.
She absolutly loves it.
It can be quite docile when she wants to potter about.
However, she is a bit of a heavy right foot, and boy, do these things take off.
They are very responsive when poked even just to 75% pedal.

She doues a fair bit of longer distance driving, ie, Warrington to Folkstone.
Sitting on the motorway at 63mph, gives her over 45 mpg.

AdBlue leak from the tank? That's how AdBlue looks when it leaks. You can wash it off with warm water.

If dealer doesn't have available appointments, you can call VW assistance and they will take car to the dealer and book you repair next day. I had AbBlue leak at the front in Audi and they took it on flatbed and provided me with rental.

Does anyone else’s Touareg slam on the emergency brakes every so often? It’s very unnerving, sometimes I feel even if a leaf was on the road it would slam the brake on.

Only ever happened to me when the car thought I was coming up too quickly behind a stationary or slow moving car... never just driving along. Maybe a sensor sensitivity problem?

Thanks for the advice, called VW, they've got the car now and have stripped it to clean and are now awaiting parts which are on back order so no definitive timeframes given unfortunately. Hopefully its does not take too long but I am doubtful as they've given me a rental for 30days which is worrying.
VW Roadside technician advised it can be driven to the dealership, dealership advised that this should have been recovered to them and not driven but that's another issue in itself.
