No heated seats as standard seems pretty poor on a £40k car, especially when they were standard on the Mk7.5.
I agree and personally I wouldn't pay the extra for heated seats. However, in order to pass Chancellor's audit (aka Wife) I had to order a 'four wheel drive Golf with heated seats'. Just happens the Golf R is the only one with even part time four wheel drive PH article on the car today: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
I've got my 7.5 for another 11 months yet, and I really don't know what I'm going to do.
I'm not keen on the looks of the Mk8, the wheels aren't great, heated seats are a must for early winter mornings, I don't like the looks of the dash, and all the touchscreen controls sound like a nightmare !!
May try and extend my current lease for another year, if I can't do that, I may look elsewhere.

Mine is 4 years old in June, already extended for a year so it has to go back.
I confess I wasn't aware of the lack of heated seats when I ordered the new one, the biggest thing I'm going to miss is the manual shift.
It's due in September.
Very interested to see people's first impressions as owners.

Have a 7.5 R Estate so no rush to change yet but everyone does eventually. Mind if the choice is still just three colours then then I'm out.
If you look at the price list it is possible to get a car in white with adaptive dampening and heated seats for under the £40k super tax threshold as the tax reference price does not include first year car tax and registration fee. Worth bearing in mind if that is an issue for you. I think it looks great BTW but turning off lane assist must be a pain.

Have they made the Lane Assist a real faff to turn off?If you look at the price list it is possible to get a car in white with adaptive dampening and heated seats for under the £40k super tax threshold as the tax reference price does not include first year car tax and registration fee. At least in the BMW when you turn it off, it stays off next time you start the car (I only wish it did the same for the driving mode, it gets annoying having to switch from Comfort to Eco every time).

It’s not a massive faff but it had to be done every time you get in it. Annoying since it gets thrown off on the major motor way works I have to drive in regularly.
