I think it's what Ground Effect says - camera angle. The rear looks like a T-Roc R from that angle.
The wheels are marmite but there are plenty of factory and aftermarket options. Should be a great car, I've got a late Mk7.5R and it's been ace so far. They still have a variety of issues common to the earlier models once the mileage racks up but there are so many tuners and specialists familiar with the cars it's all easy to sort.
They seem to be selling well, lots of new owners on the Facebook Golf R group.

So what are the figures on these? Don’t think I’ve seen a PH review.

Have to agree with earlier sentiment that the 7.5 was just about right design wise - I haven't liked any of the mk8 variants to be honest - R and Clubsport included.
Ever since someone pointed out to me that the sloping inwards headlight line reminds them of the Muppets character with the one giant monobrow I can't unsee it!!
