Audi no longer overlays Google Earth (For maps you'll need to use Smartphone Interface).

The satellite imagery now comes from another provider and to access this you'll need to have an Audi dealer install a firmware update for you.

The firmware update is easily DIY-able. Head over to ttforum.co.uk and look in the Mk3 section for the firmware updates thread.

No coding, vcds, etc required. An SD card and the ability to copy files onto it is all.

edit to add - just spotted the age of the car - call the dealer and whinge at them, see if they'll do it.

They're almost certainly wrong.

ttforum. post your existing software versions on there.

I have an A6 and I have the same problem, its appearing on other forums, but there appears to be no quick fix.

Google maps stopped working with my car earlier in the year but then it appeared Audi and Google resolved their differences.

Looks like they fell out again about a week ago as that is when people noticed the Google maps starting to not down load again..

So the moral of the story here is dont opt for the expensive Tech pack when ordering new and just use the now free smartphone connection ?

Same on my 2018 R8 and 2018 991.2 - both resolved by the dealers for nowt.

They did an update and the maps changed to a different provider.

Had this update for my S5 in December last year but my understanding was that this was only required older model years and that the OP's car should still work with google earth rather than the 'Here' maps replacement service.

While better than reverting to the default map settings I found the replacement inferior to what was available before.

Nothing outstanding for that chassis number.

Erwin shows the complaint needs a customer questionnaire filling out and submitted to the retail portal for franchise dealers. I have no access to this.

Whilst connect is rarely why people buy the pack it comes in, you could fairly argue that Carplay/Auto make a lot of the functions irrelevant.
