So loving the car - love the exhaust (maybe wish it was a bit louder) - performance is wow compared to the lease cars I have had over the last 7 years and to be fair all of the sports cars I had before leasing. Sport mode just a feather touch on the accelerator and you are off.
Surprised they haven't sorted out the engine cover issue yet - was pleased to have folding mirrors as I thought they had stopped doing these due to War issues??
Its noisy in the cabin - but its fine - Seats are really comfy.
Been getting 20 MPG when I am trying to make the popping noises as much as possible. - also getting 30 MPG when less pop hunting
- Need to try a decent eco drive as I expect I can get much more than 30MPG.
I hope you guys that are still waiting gets yours soon - For me it was worth the wait (I nearly bought a Toyota Corolla)

I have been getting mostly 20mpg in the car since getting it due to ummmm how I have been using it - today though had a longer trip with about 70% motor way and used ACC pretty much all the way - this was the result in MPG which I was very surprised at.

Just read on another forum that Volkswagen are suspending the orders of all performance Mk8 Golfs including the GTD from the 9th May.
This is apparently to assist in clearing the extensive backlog of orders. I can’t however see how it would assist those in the queue to receive orders any quicker

Have they confirmed there was some sort of delay or can they just not tell - It was a couple of weeks after my build date that they were able to confirm that it was actually built (from memory) - basically they said they had cars turning up that were still showing as not built - hopefully yours will fit into that category Stan 1970 said:

Mines still confirmed build week 19 which I think is this last week, but been told end of June-ish is the best they can tell. How long does it take to build these things

My car is built now apparently....been at the docks since last week. Was told there are still shipping delays but potentially at the dealer in a month or so.
