Hi
To clarify , I messaged Audi uk last night . A technician left me a message this morning saying it is 40 000 miles.
I asked why it appears to be 75k in the USA , and he said he couldn't comment on cars outside the uk .
Seems a little strange, but i have to follow the guidlines for the uk i guess.
Thanks for the reply's .
Cheers
Andy
There seems to be mass confusion on this. Audi US have always stated change the belt at 75k. Audi UK seem to have suggested it 'makes sense' to change the belt at 80k until recently but maybe that's changed again given the above? To clarify , I messaged Audi uk last night . Response from Audi.
Thanks Andy, we've checked with the Technical Team and they've confirmed the supercharger belt needs replacing every 40,000miles.
This is for my 2013 S4 .
When I said a colleague had been told 60k on a 2011 plate they said...
As we said the information that we provide is chassis specific. So we're unable to comment on your colleagues model. We welcome him to send us his registration so that we can check for him too. Thank you.
These were received on Facebook messenger .
Hope that clears it up ........

Bloody annoying. Noticed my rear light was broken this morning. I can only assume someone ran into it when i was parked. But seems strange, as it isn't the most "sticking-out" part of the car (the bumper protudes more).
Does anyone know:
1. where to get one at a decent price?, and;
2. how easy is to remove/refit?
Is it worth sticking some tape on it for now to stop it falling apart? (or any other bright ideas??)
Try Euro car parts, that's where I got my LED rear light from last year went for the more expensive of the two options Magneti Marelli( OEM??) Less than half Audi price.Does anyone know:

On the subject of charger belts, my 2009 car shows no mention if it being changed, now on 77k full Audi history.
Mines now calling for a service, had it done yearly in my ownership for the last 4 years as i only do about 6k a year, and I'm thinking of going specialist rather than Audi at 8 years old.
Audi fixed price servicing isn't too bad but they will insist on doing things like changing the spark plugs every other service, when they have a service life of 50k and they've only done 12k @£105 for 6.
I'm also currently suffering speaker failures in the B&O system two dead units recently, not too bad to change out if your handy but add up at £30-£50 each.
Keep thinking about moving it on but I know I'd miss it too much.

I have seen several posts where people are (or are thinking about) doing the acc belt at 55k miles. I cannot figure out why so soon. People here mention that Audi lists the ACC belt as a 75k replace. i think that is wrong. Audi scheduled maintenance shows it as a 75k mile CHECK and replace if necessary. When I spoke to a Conti Tech rep, he said the OEM 6 rib accessory belts for VAG are rated for 150 000 kms (about 93k miles) and should easily go 100,000 miles. A belt is a belt - not a performance item. Visual wear is often not apparent unless the belt is fraying. Much better to use the cool rib measuring comb device that Conti give out.
In America, not only is it 75K but its only a check, not a strict replace...

Good call re ECP. But just checked and the only option they offer for the outer light is "aftermarket". And no picture. So not really sure what I would be getting.(they do a Magneti Marelli for the inner light, but not the outer).
Re belts, got my supercharger belt changed recently (@ 72k). So much conflicting info, but for the c£100 it cost me all-in, when it was at the indy anyway, it was worth it for piece of mind.

I am looking at moving from a BMW 328i to a 2011 manual avant one of these, am i crazy? i just want a manual gearbox again
My 2014 car goes back after three years tomorrow. The only thing I won't miss is the auto gearbox, otherwise I think I would've kept it and had it mapped. The last manual boxes were 2012 I think.
I really struggled finding a manual one (and that was 3 years ago). Mine's a 2010 manual Avant, and there wasn't much if anything newer than that in manual when I was looking (though the above suggests 2012).
Agree that's it's difficult to find your ideal spec when buying used. I had the sports diff & B&O (wasn't that bothered about either, but others really want) and did want DAB (advertised as with, but didn't have it), and it also had other "convenience" items that though not expensive (probably) when new weren't spec'd (folding mirrors (to make it easier getting into garage), memory seats). But it was a manual, Avant, in great condition, so it ticked enough boxes right there that I just had to swallow the spec.

I want dab that the dealer one doesn't have but can retro fit for 300 quid. It is a 2011 one but does have good alloys and is red. I may wait on it for a bit . I've just spent out on my 328i with the m performance brakes and full history so maybe I will see if I can sell it privately first

From my experience red was one of the least desirable colours? The red ones never seemed to sell very quickly when I was looking.
Compare the price with Auto Trader example, I'd have thought it would be alot more than £14k for a 2011 with 41k. (but obv not 21k).
Red and blue were my favorites in B8. Mine was b red but would have had sprint blue from the factory (it was in the showroom). I think it's a shame all the do as standard now is boring black or white, you have to pay for anything that isn't a full time job keeping clean and although black looks good I do prefer brighter colours.Compare the price with Auto Trader example, I'd have thought it would be alot more than £14k for a 2011 with 41k.
