Anyone know of a (preferably free) way to see the full build spec of a 2011 S4?

I read some older posts about doing it through the Myaudi app or myaudi.de website but it seems that you now have to be assigned to a local dealer and handover your entire life story before you can access that info and frankly I cannot stand stuff like that!

What are the other less intrusive methods?
Message me and I’ll reply so you have my email - send a pic of the inside cover of your service book with all the 3 character codes and I can produce a printout from that. Not foolproof but will cover the major details

New problem time!

I hit a rabbit on the way to work last week. Initially I thought that no damage had been done (to the car at least). But I think it dislodged the lower bumper OS bumper grill thing as later that week I noticed that it was missing.

I'll post up a pic of the in a min of the area I'm talking about but I'm struggling to find a part number for the a replacement. My car has the radar sensor which might complicate things a little.

Anyone able to give me a part no for this or a link to where I might be able to look it up?

Other side looks like this

Hiya

Pretty sure the part number for your car is 8K0 807 682E and the colour code is 01C for satin black.

New one is £55+VAT so don't pay the silly prices quoted on ebay without checking with Audi/TPS first!

There is a version of that part number ending in B rather than E, but it's not the right one for yours as it doesn't have the chrome surround on the fog light

You're not wrong on price......I managed to crack mine getting a replacement fog light bulb in a couple of weeks ago.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204217003466 £120 (B8.5 version) but I managed to glue it in the end.

Thanks again for this info. Part collected this week and car looking vaguely symmetrical again.

On a side note, impressive what these things can do on a private test track. Won’t be doing that in a hurry again though. Even though the surface was quite greasy, full launch control seems very abusive on the drivetrain.

In which case that makes sense.. that seriously quick!@.. how remapped/pulleyed* it, and have you had it rolling roaded? (apologies if you covered this earlier in the thread)

  • I may have invented a new verb...

I actually only tested it because I bought the car in that state of tune and knew it should be very fast but it never really felt all that ballistic. I was slightly concerned that it might not have been well mapped. I guess it’s just a car that hides its speed well or my arse dyno needs recalibrating. Funnily enough my Exige (also supercharged) feels far faster but almost certainly isn’t!

Do you mind me asking where you found the part no for this? I noticed at the weekend that I need a new door seal and I'd like to be able to look stuff like this up. In my BMW days, we had realOEM. Is there a VAG equivalent?

Hiya

I have a hooky version of the software used by dealers - the person who developed it flounced off after getting annoyed at people who didn't give out hugs and likes to his posts, or hadn't posted enough before asking for access. It was often downloaded to then be advertised on ebay, so I have some sympathy on that basis.....I had it on 2 devices, but one of them stopped working recently for reasons unknown. I've given up trying to get it working and now deleted. While it's still working on the other I'm happy to look stuff up when I have time (I find it strangely therapeutic!) but the install package starting from scratch just fails now.

There was a VAG equivalent to realOEM but the site is dead (oemepc.com)

I find TPS staff generally really helpful at identifying parts - they'll often print off a page for referral and make a note of prices etc. Useful for seeking cheaper sources!

Has anyone got a procedure or has actually done a coolant change on a 3.0t? I’ve got the newer CREC engine in mine and it’s coming up for 8 years old & 30k miles and seeing as I plan to keep the car forever I’m just doing rolling service as and when, so I think it’s probably prudent to do the coolant sooner rather than later along with the gearbox oil this year..

The reason I ask is I have the self study doc for this engine and noted multiple air bleeds on the coolant system so I’m guessing it will be a sod of a job..

I had a full coolant flush/change after a bad experince with a scammer when selling mine . Had a mobile guy do it, took about an hour but he needed to come back as the heater matrix had some issue (oil was put in the coolant).
I had the older engine, but it didnt seem a intensive job?

I'm happy to e-mail you a pdf of the official procedure (which assumes you have the kit to create a partial vacuum in the cooling system to aid with filling) - it does cover where to drain, what needs to come off etc.

Probably one of those jobs where it's not much cheaper doing it yourself over getting a garage to do it tbh
