Wheel suggestions please....
Discussion
For all of those who have fitted ‘aftermarket’ wheels to their Griff, would they be able to make some suggestions or post an image or two? Reference my post on my OZ split rims, which were being refurbished until the company has now declined to do them, I need to make a quick decision in terms of some new rims!! If I am going to buy some new one's, then I would plan to update the look without going too max-power !!
Many thanks.
Mark
Think that Ford 7 spoke look good, sort of an Estoril upgrade. You can get them in two finishes, 'softline' or 'diamond cut' though the latter are becoming rare now as they are no longer made but new ones still appear now and then. They come in 15" 16" and 17" and suit the car looking more like a factory upgrade than 'carlos fandango'. You would need to fit some quality spacers to the fronts for correct offset, about 7-8mm I think from memory, but check first. There is an offset wheel calculator knocking about somewhere I'll try and dig it out if you like.

TBDGRIFF - You sound as if you have a cunning plan ???? eg you know somebody who can do refurbs?
Check out this thread, it has pretty much all the details you need. Best way to refurb at a reasonable cost is DIY or at least split them yourself and then give the rim to a polisher and rebuild with new bolts.macdeb said:

17" Ford RS softspokes on my old Griff. No spacers required unless (like I had) you have fitted big brakes. These guys do split rims:

I bought an OZ rim (polished rim only not a wheel) off them when Andrea got ran off the road by a lorry and damaged one, but it was a tad steep.

If you want the SP12 option they appear to me to be identical to the ProRace 1.2 made by Rimstock (Team Dynamics )and are much cheaper if you order them from Halfords.
Before you choose any different rims check they will match the tyre you plan to use. Most tyre manufactures have acceptable and optimum rim widths for each tyre size and type on their websites.
