As it was a nice day I took my Griff out for a good drive today (100 miles 'ish) only snag was that the boot opening button wouldn't work. Not a problem because many years ago I fitted one of David Beers (Mod-Wise) openers in the rear lamp unit which is a micro-reed switch triggered with a magnet in the key fob. This however proves the solenoid is working fine so it must either be the button on the dash or the wiring which has failed. Unless it's on a particular fuse but everything else seems to work fine. Anyone got any ideas?

I would imagine the boot button shares a feed from the other dash instruments, so if everything else is working fine it sounds like it could be the switch?

Humm that's what I'm thinking too, guess that means lifting the dash off.

Hi rich, long time! There is a connector behind the Velcro flap in the door lock area, possibly check for corrosion.

Its a big white block on the passenger side which feeds the whole rear end.

Rich, my boot solenoid burnt itself out when the button got stuck down. Twice.

Thanks but it's not the solenoid - the alternative micro switch opens it.

I have had a problem with my passenger side door button sticking, not sure why but it seams to stop the boot solenoid from working, WD40'ed it all up and havent had a problem since.
