Hi Guys, without appearing to be too lazy, has anyone got a definitive list of the bolt sizes and quantity required to replace all shock and wishbone bolts? I know that most of them are imperial, but would find it helpful if some kind soul has already done the exercise, as I want to get a new set. Planning ahead for my Shock change and wishbone refurb. Many thanks in advance, Pete

Well, I'll start you with the following ones for the rear that I have just replaced:

Upright top to upper wishbone - 7/16 UNF x 3" - 1 each side
Upper wishbone inboard pivot (non-shock mount one) - also 7/16 UNF x 3" - 1 each side
Upright bottoms to lower wishbone - also 7/16 UNF x 3" - 2 each side
Lower wishbone inboard pivot (non-toe adjuster end) - also 7/16 UNF x 3" - 1 each side

Apart from the top fastener that also mounts the shock body, all the wishbone pivots on the rear are 7/16 UNF (the toe-adjuster one on the lower is longer than the other 5 each side).

Both the rear shock mounting bolts are 1/2 UNF I think; I didn't measure the lengths as mine were ok to re-use.

There is a seller on Ebay bagging up complete sets but I don't think there will be any difficulty in finding individual or small quantities of hi-tensile fasteners in the right sizes once you establish the other lengths.

Don't forget full height nylocks and decent washers

After spending an hour the other weekend taking the wheels of the Griff, I produced a definitive list of all the fixings required for my suspension and wishbone refurbishment. I looked at the various websites offering the fixing kits and thought them quite expensive! So enquired through one of our work specialist suppliers and managed to get almost all of what I need for all four sides. The odd ones 1/2" x 4 1/2", 7/16 x 3 1/2 and 7/16 x 5 I picked up from another supplier. All bolts are High Tensile. Total cost including washers and nuts £27. If anyone is interested I could publish the list? Rgds, Pete

Pete, I am definitely interested and also very interested in your suppliers as I will be starting my 'nut & bolt' rebuild in January. I guess stainless steel bolts will be too soft and not high tensile....?, cheers Pete

Hi Pete, I would not recommend stainless at all for critical components, too brittle! High tensile steel is the order of the day. I shall list a couple of suppliers and my fixing list over the next couple of days. Regards, Pete

Pete Griff and Pete Mac. Are you guys planning to Polybush throughout or is that a no-brainer? Am not contemplating any trackdays but may do an odd sprint/hillclimb. Got my Protechs but keeping that parcel unopened til Xmas!!! Mad or what?
