Do these look right? Does anyone have any thoughts if these wheels would increase or decrease the value of my Griff which currently has standard Estorils? My car is almost exactly the same colour as the last Griff shown here. I'd be glad of your views...

Also, can I assume that 7.5J x 16 will fit the front as well as the rear - I believe these were fitted to the last 100 Griffs?

The car officially recognised as the 'last Griffith' was Halcyon Atlantis. (Apparently there are 4 dotted around the world) The same colour as my car in my profile.
It's a difficult colour to photograph as it flips from Blue to Green or vice versa depending which of the two colours is the most prominent. Paint Code is P422-HWF8B but as I mentioned it can vary from the 'standard' formulation.

Getting back to the wheels, I have 16" Estorils all round on my car so I assume the OZ wheels are the same size and offset. I personally think think they look good and as they're a standard TVR fitment they shouldn't affect the value either way imo. Wheels are subjective and what one man thinks looks good might be a horror to someone else. I know people who run those love the looks but hate the cleaning biggrin

Yes, as David says, the last 100 SE Griffith came with 16" Estoril all round, with the option of 16" OZ wheels. Some people love them, some people hate them. They are also very rare to find.

Personally I think the OZ wheels really suit the Griffith, so when a set of SE wheels came up I had to get them. I had them refurbished with new bolts, so the rim is bare alloy. Admittedly, cleaning is "fun" but as long as you keep a layer of metal polish on them with sealant, I've found them to be fine when washing.

I have tyres front 225/45 R16 and rear 245/45 R16 - and my Griff does have power steering. I also run 16" Estorils all round, same as David.

Atlantis Halcyon Blue is also the colour of mine....great colour, and not biased....much. Here are a few pictures with the OZ's:

To the left is Mr Mojo's Griffith SE with 16" Estoril

Here's one with 16" Estoril all round

Hi Moycie - do you know what the spec the wheels are on these split rims? I am assuming you have:
Front - 16x7.5 ET 25
Rear - 16x7.5 ET 35

Thanks,
Dan

Hi Paul - yes agree exactly. I am looking at the Lenso ones but I want to get 16 inch wheels all round. The rears are fine to buy blind because you can get the same size rims as per the original Oz wheels. But the Oz fronts were 15x7j - you can't get 16x7 only 16x7.5j. I want to know if this fits ok on the usual ET 25 offset.

Hi Dan,

I'm not entirely sure that mine are different Front and Rear. I believe both ET35, just narrower tyres on the front.

Likewise, I have 4x Rear Estoril 16" wheels which are also the same, just narrower tyres on the front. I have no spacers for either set.

I actually took the OZ wheels off today, but can't see the ET marking on them (just looked in the garage)

Hi Moycie, the marking is usually on the front of the wheel underneath the centre piece which comes off. Tried to upload a picture of an OZ one I have to show you.

Thanks - yeah, I thought that's where it should be. During the refurbishment, the paint has covered up these markers.

From what I understand though, these SE wheels were the same all round with ET35. They used rear wheels for the front.

Someone with an SE might be able to confirm if they have not had the wheels refurbished. I'm reluctant to scrape back the paint.

I put OZ rears on the front of my Chim, so I could go to 16" all round . I swopped my Summer OZs for my 16" Imolas with snow tyres last week smile .

So we’re fairly confident that rear wheels should fit the front and not rub?

I've got 16" estorils on all round with 10mm spacers at the front (the wheels are ET35, ET25 is the standard front offset). Tyres don't rub at all. Right on full lock, one of the inside rims just touches the lower wishbone. But the other side is OK. Might be something to do with the steering rack setup.

I seem to remember the "stops" being adjusted and I think a bit of fibreglass bodywork got ground back because of full lock it had scuffed a tyre . The tyre profile was reduced to match the 15" rolling radius. Which made the car look better than the 15" balloons smile .

Thanks for your help guys. Yea absolutely, I would get tyres to match the rolling radius of the 15”. I think by the sounds of it, even with the 7.5j width, I can get the same offset and it should be ok

Just for the record I trial fitted a 8.5jx17 et37 to the front of my Griff and had no issues of wheel rubbing on lock.

Moycie - what tyres do you have on there?

I have Toyo Proxes T1R. They have a softer tyre wall compared to the original Bridgestones, so run at +1or2psi higher than handbook suggests: 24psi Front + 26psi Rear. I have found them perfect. I have a set on my Cerbera too.
