Lloyd Specialist Developments do a funny-looking manifold as well - http://www.lloydspecialistdevelopments.co.uk/lloyd... - I was reading about it when I was on holiday last week. 4 MGF throttle bodies. Be interesting to know how much power it adds, and torque, with it having decent length intakes. Website doesn't give details.

Looks easier to fit as it looks like it just replaces the plenum rather than the whole intake manifold. Not cheap though smile

The detailed pics doesn't appear to show the tidiest of welding though for that price?

Wildcat 600

What I would really like is a 380 - 400BHP Rover V8 for street / occasional track use, naturally aspirated so I was thinking of a 5.2 forged cross bolted bottom end with TA heads and the JE cross over manifold. I did look into Wildcat heads before but they would not fit the JE throttle bodies. Looks like the TA heads could be the answer to unlocking a bit more power.

Not interested in SC or Turbo although I agree it would be much easier.
I would love to put those heads and throttle bodies on my engine which would no doubt break the 400 barrier, hmmm.

Id say well over 400 Peter. Im sure someone recently put these on a 5 litre and got 429bhp. Think it was in an MG. Should put you at the 450 mark Peter.

Which doesn't strike me as a very smart thing to do, given that the OE manifold is the biggest restriction, and now there's another 8" or so of intake runner on top... On top of that (pun intended) the complete assembly looks to be f_in heavy.

Replacing the plenum with a dual plane manifold without the expense of going to ITBs in a good thing in principle, but I would rather start with something like the JE crossover manifold and add airboxes with one throttle body each in front of them.

Had a call from a friend, telling me the News on ACR website, that new Wildcat heads are now available.
I wonder how they compare to the Stage 1, Wildcat heads I bought from Ian Richardson ?

Price is very reasonable compared to the TA heads.

Thanks guys!

So, any ideas what the improvement would be over a pair of V8Ds Stage 4 heads?

The offered price seems great value..............thoughts?

Matt,

Not so,

ACT £960.00 ex VAT.

TA £1,043.00 ex shipping, duty & VAT.

Both bare.

Not a huge amount.

I didn't realise they were bare, makes sense now you have pointed it out. I seem to remember MGBloke with the V8 MG saying his TA heads were over 2k all in. He got a great result with the heads.

Here i come wild cat..

Some porting work.. Near all done now.. wink Maybe some finnishing still..

My camera is not good enought to take better pick of valve seat.. Or my hand is shaking to mutch.. smile Will try to take another camera someday..

But here you can see idea to try take all out of rover original heads..

Some offset porting work to valve seat/valve pocket.. Approx 1mm offset. Throat diameter 90% 43mm inlet valve.

Exhaust short side radius is also fully ported ovality to valve seat is approx 1mm. Now it will flow without any turbulence..

Inlet flow will increase approx 35-40hp over stock 3 angle valve seat when make a test after porting.. But that flow bench testing is not the point. Only i want to show how this make a difference.. It is only some theoritically number. But now it will flow ~200cfm if some one is intresting.. Now it will use short side mutch mutch more than STD 3 angle valve seat/85% throat diameter.. Theoritically my flywheel power 393hp + 40hp more head flow + more agressive cam, it could be produse 40hp more.. wink + some home made merge collectors.. Those are ready now, in the pick they are still in progress..

Dan.

Thought I would wake this thread up.
The Image you posted of the 2 Inlet manifolds before.
Are you saying that the Wildcat one is specifically for Wildcat heads?
I have a Wildcat 5.2 engine with a Procharger on it.
Ages ago I spoke with Ian regarding using one of the Holley type inlet manifolds and he said they were to narrow for my heads.
I would be interested to get some measurements or maybe if you wanted to move it on....
I also have both of the Wildcat type of inlet manifolds, but a single inlet would make life simpler.
