Worth a gamble or not?

The new lower dash looks pretty trick. Thinking about changing the leather either side of the main tunnel to a biscuit colour to match the edges of the carpets? Or black, with black carpets?
What do you think?
So, best laid plans and all that.
The Griff is off to Dave in a few weeks for the hood. I’ve caved in and am going to do the carpets etc. Then, after reading Matthew’s thread on the ecu I was inspired to just do that as well. I’m going with Joolz, and Emerald. Bigger injectors, decat the manifolds.
That should be ‘it’

Two weeks now for trim and then another week before the Emerald. Getting a little nervous about it to be honest. I have played with lots of things and always spent, and lost money on various projects. It's this one though that is interesting. Despite knowing better it's really got under my skin, more importantly the friends I have made along the way are priceless.
Half of me doesn't know what to do with it, once completed, the other half is undecided
it would be interesting to ship to it Italy as I have never seen one here?
Still waiting on a date to go down for the big reveal. As much as I've rehearsed the evening and the speech I'm really nervous about how it's going to go, it's such an emotional thing and I am really nervous about it. All I can do is go with my gut.

Can't work out how the clicky thing is done from the Formatting Codes. Doh
So the last two days hace been spent on the Griff.
First, a small water leak. Given the engine has had 'everyting' it was likely to be simple, it was. A slight weep from a bolt. One thing which has been on the radar was dust off of the belt. Turns out that this has been every so gently kissing the power steering hose. It's amazing how much dust is made from seemingly little contact, slight rouitng change, all good. I might swap to the JE tensnioner, still not sure? One of the rad fans, the same one that was stuck before, threw in the towel, both replaced, it's just not worth the risk, easy decision. The triple cored standard rad has so much more cooling power, one fan actually coped ok. Shut off valve on the water rail has stopped the furnace from the interior fans, might have mentioned this before, can't remember.
The clock is ticking now.
Re-trim begins next week. We have to get the dashboard back in and the new mirror kit on, complete with modified hoover tubes, still amuses me that one. Spoke to Joolz earlier, was going to relocate the battery, change it to a smaller one, but right now I'll leave it. The dash loom has some interesting mods, these have been removed and it's had a quick refresh. Tomorrow there will likely be some swearing. Delivery will be Friday, one way or another...
Super excited about the next few weeks, I am not chasing perfection with this, but it's looking pretty good

Took the car over to Dave earlier, he’s going to work his magic on the interior. Keeping it fairly stock. New hood will have the smaller window so it folds better.
Suspension is good, very good for road use. Only issue is the heat. The cabin is like a blast furnace! Have fitted a bypass valve so need to figure out why. It’s actually making it annoying to drive right now. Even so, the torque and noise is very addictive. After Dave, Joolz will fit the Emerald, any doubts about it have gone. Idle is a bit floaty and it pinks under load. Seemed to settle down after a while but no doubt an ecu change will make the most of it
Good day.

Many more folk than just me, it’s a credit to all of them.
One more of the paint. Malachite is a curious colour, can look almost olive coloured in dim light but then in the sun it comes to life. It’ll look ace with the new hood, that’s remaining green as well.

Spiders have really grown on me, I’d change them for only one other wheel type. The other half was following today and said you could feel it as it wafted along ahead. Once the remaining cats are out, we’ll see I think they’re breaking up anyway, causing lots of heat etc.
Things left;

Things left;
- Mirrors to fit
- Emerald
- Clean the leather, guys said Autoglym, what do you think??
- Remove 19 year old tyres after dyno!
- Fit fire extinguisher
- paint badge properly[url]

Green with green hood looks
Re the overheating heater maybe ask Joolz to take a look.
I'd guess he loves being upside down in the footwell - must do with all these loom replacements
I was chatting to him the other day about a dash issue, he sounded thrilled with the prospect, can’t say I blame him. All sorted now, but a proper head scratcher yesterday. I’ll definitely ask him, he can only say no With the pesky pre-cats out it should be far more (un) civilised Re the overheating heater maybe ask Joolz to take a look.

Dropped the roof off today.
The new carpet looks nice, hood colour is bang on. This was outside, I really like old American stuff. Dave comented on the paint on the Griffith, he knew Simon @ Windrush, nice to have the feedback from someone who sees all sorts of exotica...

Hopefuly it'll be ready at the end of the week.

It’s almost done
So glad I went for a full carpet set as well as the hood, they’ve cleaned up the leather and it looks really decent.
It was previously re-trimmed at TVR, they didn’t exactly do a great job as it turned out. The tunnel barely had any soundproofing etc, it was probably a ‘Friday’
Anyway, before...
After....
Can’t wait to see the end result

Picked up the car today, Dave has done an awesome job. The old leather has come up brilliantly, it’s really a great result. Hood colour etc, spot on.
Now off to Jules to work his magic.
Emerald/wide band/3 maps
Bigger Injectors
Pre-cats out
72mm plenum
More power/torque/noise and better manners.
