Ceramic coating exhaust manifolds

I did the rocker covers on the S and I wouldn't do it again. No benefit. Painted and polished covers look better imho and are cheaper.
My current rocker covers were chrome polished but I haven't kept it up so now it's looking naff. Hence I thought a nice heavy duty heat resistance coating to wipe down when a bit dirty.Might just colour code the rocker covers to body colour then
I recently got my Speed 6 manifolds coated at Zircotec for £345. More expensive than Camcoat and F1 but apparently much more durable as the process is plasma coating rather than “painting” and curing as I believe the others do.
I did quite a lot of research and found that quite a few people found the coating deteriorated quite quickly when it was the paint/cure type but no one had found this with the plasma coating.
You pays your money and takes your choice I suppose.

Agreed I wouldn't want a paint type application, it needs to be finish that lasts a good few years.I did quite a lot of research and found that quite a few people found the coating deteriorated quite quickly when it was the paint/cure type but no one had found this with the plasma coating.

Just thinking old jag cast iron exhaust manifolds used to be black enamel and they lasted decades

If only the Rover V8 manifolds and cat were that price! IIRC it was going to be about 4x that I did quite a lot of research and found that quite a few people found the coating deteriorated quite quickly when it was the paint/cure type but no one had found this with the plasma coating.

The ref I currently can't find was for a 'blasted' application.
I have not had any issues with the numerous Perf 1 coated parts. Coated at different times and fitted to different cars.
I am sure there are many customers like yourself who have had no issues. However I found quite a few reviews on line where there have been issues, usually stating that the coating has come off in places. The problem here is that to rectify the problem involves removing manifolds, cats etc. and sending them back to the coater. This obviously has a cost implication if you are not able to do this yourself. I didn’t come across a single case of coating coming off from Zircotec customers.
