Pre cat on Autotrader
Discussion
A friend who is not a PHer has asked me to see if anyone on this forum has come across the 4.3 precat advertised by Dave Fox Cars in Staffs. He lives a long way from the garage and wants to avoid a wasted trip if possible.
If the car is not known who is recommended for TVR inspections these days?

Looks a clean car but the underneath is not shown. They must have a ramp at the garage and ask them to take some pics, with lots of light, to see how the chassis is. It should be silver and the early cars can last well. Personally, I would rather see some surface rust on the original powder coat than a thick covering of wax oil or similar. Neither are conclusive as pictures but I would be more inclined to get in the car having seen that than not.
The exhaust tails look changed but that might be a pre cat thing. Also, the calipers on the front might have been changed to the later 260mm versions.
I am thinking about a pre cat. If it was Red, I would be arranging a viewing.

Ask the guy in this thread for the chassis pics:

Someone else on FB said it smells musty inside.
Been on sale since last summer.

I asked for some photos of the Chassis back in November, the photos were of poor quality but good enough to see that some of the Chassis had been recently spay painted over oil and rust!! I also got the registration number to do a MOT history check which revealed a history of Chassis corrosion advisories. As the car was almost 400 miles away I decided against taking it any further.
