So we all know that the 340 bhp quoted by TVR was exaggerated , but what about the 0 to 60 time of 4.2 seconds and the top speed of 167mph ?
My Griff is very quick of the mark but not sure its that quick , and as for 167MPH I think it would take off !

I would think that 4.2 seconds is unobtainable.

I believe I’m correct in saying that my chimera with a genuine 400 bhp wnd far more torque with drag radials fitted can achieve 0–60 mph inbetween 3.0- 3.5 seconds.

Shocking if the supplied test car was not exactly production standard ......

Not really.

Autocar figures are usually pretty reliable.. It all comes down to traction, (special tyres maybe), warm day, high grip surface, the optimum, not the average) and with no TC, etc,etc the skill of the tester.. been up to 150 mph at Millbrook, ran out of room. Vmax people said to me had a standard Griff 500 upto 160, before run out of room..

I'd love to know what my T350C could do - 0-60 - 0-100, 0-124, 0-100-0
(Topcats LS3 480 BHP V8 conversion)

back in the dayEvo tested a 4.3 BV and their figure of 4.5sec came from that car, they never tested a 500.

So maybe 4.2 is achievable?

Just found this site which if we consider that the 5.0 is about 285bhp realistically gives the griff a 0-60mph of 3.358 seconds!

I think you've a large chunk of car missing if you think it weighs 1820 lb! Unless yours does??

1080 kg (which is often considered a fib anyway) is 2419lb. That gives 4.15s.

Quite right, I shouldn't rely on my memory regarding conversions !

So 4.2 seconds may well be available.

Mine is probably a tad lighter, say 1050kg maybe, = 3.118 seconds

Had mine weighed at the local weigh-in, engine running with two-thirds of a tank of fuel - 1080kg on the nose...

Some seem to weigh more, some less - guess it depends who was laying up at the factory that day! wink
