Wonderful thread and a great build, keep up the good work! And nice to see all the combined TVR experts join in, makes it extra worthwhile to read the comments. Just as a side note, I am the one with the acquarium airbox a few pages earlier ;-) See build thread here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
Tweety Vixen V8 Ford 302 with ITB's running TPS and rpm as map variables, perfect driveability for me, (and I really agree with the comment on how important driveability is to enjoy our cars).

Hi Ephemera,

I missed your thread the first time around. I have just read it now, a fantastic story and build to a very high standard. The Ford 302 running ITBs sounds immense! A stunning car congratulations.

Thank you for your feedback on the TPS and RPM as a mapping strategy, this is a step into the unknown for me so good to hear from someone who has made a success out of a similar setup.

Indeed he did. Pistons back from the ceramic coating process. Pictures courtesy of Dom at Powers.

Between us we have had a nightmare finding the blanking grub screws for the Doug Kiddie 91.5mm stroke crank shaft. Dom has measured them and they are M16 x 1.5 pitch. I have some turning up next week so hopefully these will fit OK and Dom can proceed with balancing the crank.

I wonder if Dom does the balancing in house?

My crank was done by John Eales brother last year. Made a great job of it and the engine has never been smoother!

Some more bling, this time from Ged Sant
https://geds-shed.co.uk/

Pulleys made from 6082 T6 aluminium which I am told has excellent corrosion resistance and suitable for anodising. I am very pleased with these, they look great and the service from Ged was fantastic.

Trims a few grams off the weight (484g) as well compared to the OEM parts. Every little helps.

All looks good Matt. The important question, is what temperature coolant stat to use? biggrin

Who needs a stat? EWP controlled by the ECU set to pulse until warm with timed overrun and twin fan control.

It may well work fine, but I can't get over the thought of water standing still in the warming-up engine during the off-pulse pump section.

I think a better way to do it is the way I choose which is run the pump continuously and have a bypass thermostat .. full flow through the engine all the time, no localised heating up spots during the no-pulse times and more even temperature distribution throughout the engine because the pump is flowing all the time.

As I say your way may well work fine, but I much prefer the thought of water flowing through the engine all the time..

I’d suggest getting those pulleys hard anodised, they will look great for a bit, look at diamondize part of camcoat. I had mine done in black
