My Griffith is VERY considerate as it had a massive failure on my driveway having just returned from an epic 10 day Spanish tour.

Couldn’t lock, start, etc after a welcome home wash so pushed it back into the garage and contacted Dave @ HF Solutions. Few days later and Dave replaced the whole alarm system. This is what he pulled out which was still smoking if moved :

Great service from Dave. I count myself very lucky that this didn’t happen deep inside the Bilbao ferry and the Griff + House didn’t burn down !

Not trusting anything electrical on a TVR, I installed a battery isolator in the passenger foot-well many years ago. At least I never have any worries about this type of thing. Of course, this means the immobiliser is not working so it needs to be secure.

I know I could contact Dave directly, but do you mind me asking how much a new installation cost? I've been having problems with my central locking and have been putting off thinking about the worst case scenario.

Any good auto electrician will fit an alarm system or an approved alarm installer

They are no big deal

Shop around, there are massive differences in price due to high and low labour rates

This ^ cant say I am particularly fond of the Meta and not sure why owners place it in such high regard there are lots of more dependable options available , and regardless of what you might hear these are an easy car to fit a CAT1 system on even from scratch & certainly easier than your average euro box from the 80's/90's when alarm fitting was in its heyday scratchchin

We all make our own choices .... for me, I go with the guy who knows TVRs. If it’s a keeper, you want it right
