I see sometimes offers for Chimaera soft tops and sometimes offered to fit both Griffith and Chimaera.

Anyone here that can confirm if they actually are the same?

Actually that's not strictly true. While I would agree that the Fabric of the hood is the same for both models, there can be differences at the hinge-points on the main hoop.
Some time ago, when looking to upgrade the old hood on my Griff, I bought a rear section complete from a Chimera thinking it would be a straight swap. It wasn't. Yes you could mount the hoop but differences in its dimensions would not allow it to be lowered.

Perhaps it can be done one way but not the other however illogical that may seem,
but it wouldn't surprise me being TVR.

You can see the difference on chims between the A and B body molds they got the B mold slightly wrong on the n/s/r if you kneel down behind the car and compare the rear haunches you will see on a B mold car the n/s/r does not exactly mirror the o/s/r. If you stand up and look at it you don't notice it. The hoop for the B mold had to be modified. So on chims there are fitted two slightly different hoops one for A one for B.

If that is a fact it does make me laugh. Honestly, the only similarity in between my Boxster and a Chimeara is that they have four wheels. The quality is a galaxy apart. smile

I suspect the replacement hood kits are the fabric only not the hoop. I further suspect that the overage in the kits make them fit both the Chimp and the Grief.
