Boot badge, long shot…

Hi, I have a perfect Griffith 500 boot badge in chrome, but would prefer gold. Anyone got the gold looking for chrome?

Hi Nic,

If it’s like the other badges I’ve had previously, sand through the silver and you’ll eventually get it to brass. Found out by mistake when refurbishing a Cerbera badge a while ago.

I got mine stripped and then gold plated at a local platers. Wasn't a £2 job but worth it in my humble opinion.

If you do end up getting your badge refurbished. I used these guys via eBay, they will refinish in any colour you want. Takes about two weeks the finish is perfect. Really pleased with the result.

Thanks all. The refurbished badges look good but different, with the polyurethane top coat. Still prefer original, but will go for refurbishment if no option. Thx.

Mine was resin coated so that what I told them to do if you do refurbish yours. Talk to them they do lots of different badges including the the front TVR badge which is not resin coated.
I’m sure they could accommodate your requirements, they were very user friendly when I spoke with them.
