Dead battery: How to open boot? How to remove battery box?

Hi all.

My battery is completely dead and I've accidently let the boot close. Is there a secret way to open it?
The reason I need to know is my Griff Bible is in there and I need to find out how to remove the battery/battery box. Any one know this one too? Is it bolted in somehow?

I assume you are in the car in which case put jump leads over to the battery then you can open the boot.
If you battery is in the footwell then the box is held in place by 2 M8 bolts up through the floor.

(I also should have mentioned I cant get jump leads to it as the car is in the garage! But with your info I will find a way, thanks)

I posted a solution but it was deleted. If you did not see it then feel free to PM me. It may not work as I had a Cerbera but think it may apply to all TVRs of that era.

Oddly it only gives access to the boot space so do not see a huge security risk in me posting about it?

No problems, but divulging ANY emergency entry information on any marque on any Public forum just gives more information to the scrotes out there that could use it to gain entry to our cars.

Don't forget we are advised as motorists to keep valuables locked in the boot and out of sight, so I for one would disagree with you that it is a huge security risk.

Point taken. I was too interested in helping the OP with something that I wasn’t even sure was the same on their car to think about scrotes nicking stuff.

To be fair I don’t think I have seen any TVR parked up in the last 10 yrs and I live near one of the most successful TVR dealers In The U.K. historically.

I live near Newark, scrote central for East Notts.
I have seen a Tuscan and a T350 parked on the street here.
In a fairly rough area too.
So it does happen occasionally.

I even park my Chimaera in the town's car parks.
It's a great way of getting it scraped by SUV drivers who are also Specsavers' customers (or ought to be)

It used to be the case that is you drove through HASLEMERE in surrey you could almost guarantee to see a TVR due to how many Fernhurst sold (over 20 per month in the height) but I do not recall seeing one even being driven in years. I used to park my Cerbera all over the place as used it for every day stuff too.

Thanks to everyone, I saw all your answers.
I instead decided to take an online course in contortionism and went ahead and changed the battery. (Despite the cobwebs the car fired up first time, very exciting).
